I really hope we don't trade our 1st round pick next year to get back in the 2nd round, no more mortgaging the future please... I don't see anyone left that will be worth a 1st round pick next year.

I hope the have learned. If anything I would be happy to see us trade the third round pick for a late fourth as well as a second next year.

good to see, but i'd rather have teachers than techers...i think.

i can see that, though. didn't look like fox wanted to have to develop or work with anyone, esp. as the years went on. kind of the reason he was "fired".

i've not no problem at all taking ellis or dowling (it's be nice to have someone with that size going against julio and colston) if either guy is available. same with rudolph.

...and the Skins would somehow find a way to screw that up if we did.

I would agree with you normally, but Vinny Cerrato is no longer on board. We actually have a 2 guys that know what the hell they are doing. It's refreshing after so many years. We still have a ton of talent missing, and I'm not expecting diddly next year either.

I spoke to a friend within the organization today and he I found something he said very intersting. If you have read my past posts I have never claimed to know anyone or spreaded false rumors before so I have no reason to lie. Take it for what it is worth but he said the Panthers are more willing to take players with character issues this year then in past years. They really believe in Ron Rivera and described him as "a molder of men". They also hired a lot of "techers" on the coaching staff this year, so they believe that this is a good environment for "troubled" players. I was told that the DT from Hampton is high on their draft board and in the past would have probably crossed him off. Also if no CBs fall to them they will not reach, but rather will internally discuss if they are willing to take a chance at Jenkins if enters the supplementary draft. I found that interesting that they would already be talking about that.

Also he told me he is doesnt know this as a fact but from his sources he has heard if they trade up it will be for Kyle Rudolph or the CB from Virginia.

Again take it all for what it is worth.

Thank you for the info. Can you tell me what # cam newton will wear

I'm not sure Rivera can "Mold" a player like Shockey. You do realize how old that guy is right? I think this is along the same lines of that Patriots TE we picked up after he scored a touchdown on us in the superbowl. Shockey is going on vacation this year. I hope we do trade for Rudolph

I have no idea what number Cam will wear, Cam does not know what number Cam will wear. He is going to try and get number 2 from Clausen I do know that but something tells me Jimmy's ego is to big to allow that. I am impressed with how Jimmy is handling himself tho.

I agree I do not think that Rivera can mold Shockey, he was referring to how he can mold rookies and younger players. He has a military way about himself and he is a former player in this league. Plus they think they have a great core of great character guys in Gross, Kalil, Beason, Davis, and DeAngelo.

well Cam is not a character issue guy. That is what the media wants you to believe. Only thing he ever did was buy a stolen laptop as a Freshman in college. He mentors kids at local elementary schools in Auburn.

That's bullshit. He is a character issue guy and it isn't just the media. When Nolan Nawrocki wrote up his draft analysis about Cam Newton, he specifically listed character issues in the profile. Before you go and blast Nwrocki, the next day McShay was on the radio doing a interview, and he was asked a few questions about the Nawrocki piece. He flat out stated that he had heard some of the exact same things Nolan had heard, but even worse. He was just surprised he wrote it out basically word for word instead of sugar coating it like most analysts do. He backed up that piece with his own research. I'll be glad to link you that podcast if you like.
