You guys got your wish. That was the easy part... getting drafted. Let's see if he can put his money where your mouth has been.

I havent really been opposed to Cam, he just hasnt been my favorite.

I will acknowledge that, if there was a single player in this draft that could possibly turn this franchise around quickly, it's Cam. Do your thing kid!!!!

Cam Newton is NOT going to turn this franchise around 'quickly'.

He has a LOT to learn, our schedule is brutal, and there is less to gain by throwing him in too soon than there is to lose. Clausen was thrown into the starting position too soon and under less than favorable conditions and couldn't pull it off. Cam is an 'investment' that needs to be brought along and not played until ready. Aaron Rogers sat 3 years before taking over and winning a super bowl. If Carolina succumbs to the 'instant gratification era with Newton, he will be a BUST.

It's time to stop saying "huggers" and "haters". He's a Panther now. Let it go.

I wont argue that, I used it to classify all the guys clamoring for Cam just get him, without acknowledging other needs/faults.

He does have the potential to be great, will he? Thats up to him. Looking at other top QB's drafted recently, they have made immediate impacts on their franchises, we could expect him to do the same. I dont think we would have picked him if the staff thought he was a 2 or 3 year project.

I did not think that Cam was the best option due to his vast learning curve, but now that he is drafted.. I am looking forward to all the posibilities that he will open up for our offense. I hope he is everything that our FO thinks he can be. At the very least, panther football will be extremely exciting to watch.

Its going to be a bigger Vickish version of Pickles. Wait and see. I've got my I told you so ready. Anyone who says.. give Cam more than 1 year to be what he needs to be... what about Clausen. Dont get me wrong I dont like Clausen either, but I am really upset we drafted Newton #1 overall. I will support him, but he doesnt make us better. He makes us worse right now... I've never heard every one of the analysts saying we made an awful decision going with him #1 overall. Im not buying it. Im going to Support him, but I dont like it at all. I hope he does what he has done the last two years to the NFL if we play this year. Lets get to work.
