Trade Peppers for Matt Cassell?

I think it is ironic the the same criticism Cassel is getting this offseason (system QB, no arm, dinks and dunks...) is the EXACT same criticism that Tom Brady got after the year he got the starting job. How did that end up working out...?

Yeah? Did you see Cassell given the chance to do these things, and he failed? No. He did what the coaches wanted, what the gameplan was. Fault a guy before you even see if he can? Same people that diss QB's that do the spred in college that never were given the chance to be a true passer.

So your reasoning is basically that we should send Peppers to New England because Cassell hasn't proven that he would suck in a vertical passing attack yet?

Yeah! Cause we have seen Cassell's second year already, right? Different team, different person. Quit being a silly homer.

Silly homer? Riiiight! Cassel has one decent season on a team FULL of talent and I'm a homer for thinking he's a one year wonder? Interesting.

The staff brought Cassel along the same way they did Brady in his first year, they played to his strengths. Difference is that Brady didn't have a top rushing attack or a great pair of WRs his first year starting.

Would almost be as crazy as someone taking a 4-3 DE and making him a 3-4 LB without any previous experience. Teams have to take chances sometimes, sometimes it works out and he's great. Sometimes it doesn't. I'm not saying Cassell is the next Montana, I'm saying, we need a QB, regardless of what the homers say, and we suck at developing them, but Cassell has shown flashes. When you can't develop the most important position in the game, you need to take chances to get the QB you need.

So that means it works every time? No way you are trying to convince everybody that Cassel is another Brady. Seriously? Why weren't the Pats in the playoffs if he's so good?

Dude, Cassel still needs development. You just said yourself that he's shown "flashes". If the Panthers can't develop QBs, why would getting Cassel be a good idea? Contradiction much?
