Newton to be introduced @1230

What Zod said. I can't recall a kid coming out of college ever getting SO much negative heat. The Golden Calf of Bristol got constant praise, other QBs got praise, but never since maybe Deion or Keyshawn has a pick ever been looked down at. Even today on ESPN the KID is still getting trashed. He has handled it all very well and you know it has weighed him down for well over a year now.

listen to that interview again and pretend you don't know it's cam newton. his charisma still comes through even without the smile. but let's be honest, the man does not have a firm grasp on the english language. i'm sure he'll get better at the public speaking part, and will probably do so fast. please. cause in my humble opinion that presser was painful.

oh and it looked to me like he was clueless when that kid came out. when the kid signed the hat he just stood there until riley fields had to say "and we know you'd like to return the favor.....and sign his hat too."still a great moment, but he looked a bit lost.

but hey, look on the bright side. at least there aren't any pictures of him in a speedo with two other guys in a speedo.

Yes, it's really difficult to put on a happy face when you've just won the lottery. What a brave young man.

He by no means "won the lottery." I don't care if you're drafted first or dead last to be selected in the draft you've had to do WORK. Its like he woke up some morning and just got lucky, to win two national championships a heisman and be drafted number 1 in the NFL is quite the accomplishment. I'm not a Cam nut hugger but let's not trivialize what he's accomplished.

I though he sounded fine in the press conference he's not a great orator bit that's not what we are paying him for anyways.. if you thought he was bad you've never seen a Frank Gore press conference.

when you wake up and win the lottery, you get to sit on your ass and everything simply came to you without any work.

hardly an intelligent comparison. and I love how fans say this kind of poo knowing FULL WELL they will NEVER face the heat these guys face. You are chewed up and spit out with a broken body when you're done.

easy to spout bullpoo, eh? no offense sylvian.. you seem a decent poster, but this mentality drives me crazy when I think of a regular joe who never has to live up to the stress these guys face.

because trying to relate to these guys as an armchair QB is a fuging joke.

My point was you guys are acting like it's an accomplishment that he is being professional and saying positive things when he just secured tens of millions of dollars.

Had absolutely nothing to do with him not having to work to have gotten to that point.

I honestly don't think these guys face much stress. Stress is working a dead end job when you have a family to feed. Stress is getting laid off and not knowing how to support yourself. Having tens of millions of dollars in the bank and having to play a game for a living is not stress. If it is then you should seriously have your priorities checked. They spout religious bullshit all the time, they should be the first to realize their situation is advantageous compared to most and thus they are 'blessed'.

It never ceases to amaze me how easy something is when you aren't the one doing it.

well, I get your point....but at the same time. Playing in the NFL doesn't mean the guys are living the good life. I mean didn't a Gamecock who played for Denver just put an end to it all recently......

money doesn't solve all problems....it can create a host of new ones. I mean why do you think they always say lottery winners are cursed.

When you are working at your dead end job do people call your father a POS on national television??? Do people tell the world you are a phony even though they have never met you?? Do you have 15,000,000 people sitting around your desk judging every move, smile, smirk, or unflattering moment??

I you take a job and struggle do you have 65,000 people booing you?? Do you have all the sports radio stations taking calls from strangers calling you a bum??

Does your dead end job make you feel you have the fate of the entire city of Charlotte resting on your shoulders while the majority of people around the country are hoping that you fail???

No stress. :) We all know, money makes you impervious to feelings and stress.
