Yas: Five post-lockout NFC South predictions

Found this very interesting from Yas, who is on the ground in Charlotte right now. It was titled as predictions but it sounds like he's go some insight into the situation with Smith:

Steve Smith will be out of Carolina quickly. He wants out and the Carolina Panthers will be happy to accommodate him. Don’t get your hopes too high as far as compensation because Smith is in his 30s. But the Panthers believe it’s time to let him move on. Owner Jerry Richardson believes Smith walked all over former coach John Fox in recent years. Richardson was dealing with some health issues for most of that time and regrets that he didn’t step in sooner. He wants to give new coach Ron Rivera a fresh start that doesn’t include any past problems.

Surprised he was such a cancer if true.

You know when John Fox first got to Carolina he didn't put up with that crap. I remember him benching Smith after he got a couple 15 yard penalties after receptions and basically told him he wouldn't play until he got himself under control.

I LOVE Smitty and his feistiness is part of what makes him great. But if he has been a locker room cancer he needs to move on.

Honestly not so surprised Fox seems like a pushover Coach Rivera on the other hand not so much seems very no nonsense/bad ass. Will be interesting to see what happens with Smith though I still feel the same way I've always felt Smiths passion and will to win/not settling for being average is what makes him great. I don't blame him for being upset with our teams direction the past few years.

Another ridiculous part of that article:

3. I think safety Darren Sharper will sign before long, but not with the New Orleans Saints. Sharper served a great role with his veteran presence in New Orleans’ Super Bowl season. But Malcolm Jenkins has emerged and is at a point where he’s as good as Sharper was in his prime.

Malcolm Jenkins is as good as Sharper in his prime...ridiculous...Jenkins might be alright, but this claim is over the top.

It has taken people this long to realize that Steve Smith went from all heart to all drama? Been this way for 2-3 years now, me me me me me is all he is now. gtfo, don't let the door hit you on your arse Steve. :)

:nonod: You must have missed his interview on NFLN where he basically put it out there that he wanted to be more in the slot and not a number 1 wideout anymore but he's a me me me guy?

Like I said of before of course a player like Smith is going to feel some kind of way when we are not winning his desire is to be a Hall of Famer c'mon now...
