Trade For McNabb

People here really live in a dream world if you think the Panthers are going to go after a high dollar free agent to hold Cam's hand.

true

and since FA will come after draft, those pricetags are gonna get a bit bigger

There is no "he's too expensive, we'll address it in draft" opportunities for this year.

As I said in another thread… I believe this will be one of the last places Mcnabb want to go. #1) He’s going to want to be somewhere he can prove he can be the starter and lead the team (Arizona, San Fran Ect).

#2) Coming here he would know there is little chance he could finish the season

#3) I believe he would be more interested in going to a contender instead of a non-contender and being a mentor…..

#4) I doubt there is a trade, with the bonus he is due he will more than likely be released and he can go where he wants…. This is not going to be a popular destination spot for FA QB’s still wanting to play or a chance to start the entire season… not with the #1 pick on the squad.

We don't really know for certain, I don't believe. But Rivera has alluded to a run-focused (if not run-first) style of play unless I'm hearing him wrong.

The guy you choose as your OC will be a major sign of whats going to be ran.

Carolina based on Chud's past as an OC and his time with SD will run a TE focused Coryell system, featuring a balanced mix of power runs and deep vertical passing plays.

Point blank, you don't hire an Air Coryell guy with his own playbook that he's developed over the last several years to run a WCO when thats not his style..

Figured most would've done the research on that one and known what kind of system he's ran as an OC.

Also how do people know we wont go to a WCO? New coaches new scheme.

You think we hired nine coaches from Coryell backgrounds with plans to switch to a West Coast system?

It's not just Chudzinski. The team only hired guys who had worked directly for either Norv Turner or Ernie Zampese. I'd have to look to see if there's even a shred of WCO experience in the offensive lineup (likely not much, if at all).

McNabb is a bad idea, system wise and attitude wise. Although he talked a good game, he wasn't exactly the mentor type in Philly for Kolb or Vick. Why put him in that role again?

Gimma a vet with Coryell experience and some years under center (i.e. Rodney Peete II). Not like we're headed to the Super Bowl this year anyway.

The only thing I don't like about picking up McNabb is his skill set doesn't fit the offense that Carolina plans to run.

Do you pay that much to McNabb to sit on the bench and mentor Cam while Cam plays????? Do you change around the offense to fit McNabb's more WC skill set???

McNabb is a great deep ball thrower and we plan to run a vertical passing attack, not sure where this whole "his skill set doesn't fit" came from? I understand he was in a WCO with the Eagles, but that doesn't mean it's the only thing he can do.

lol McNabb sucks. he was only good under Reid because Reid is a QB genius.

seriously go watch a redskins game from this season and watch him ROUTINELY miss some of the easiest passes ever. he is so inaccurate.

keep our QB stable as it is. Moore/Clausen/Newton. let Moore start and if Newton can prove he's ready to start throw him in there.
