Warner, Holt, and Mora says Carolina made mistake by picking Cam

Arsen, they did not say that at all... I heard what they said. Warner said that typically Quarterbacks win championships in the pocket.. he also said it's possible that Cam can win a different way. Mora said, Hurney had to make the Cam Newton pick even though he isnt the best player on the board, because his upside is way too great.

Mnnn no, He said in 1st round u pick franchise QB. Franchise QB wins championships. To win championships, you need to be good pocket passer. Newton is not a pocket passer so he's not a franchise player. (His logicl) He said maybe Newton might win championship some other way, he has no idea. He said Panthers drafted by need and not by talent. Then Mora asked Warner "Do you think Newton is franchise QB" Warner said no.

Hoping you guys have caught the fact that Warner and Holt's comments were not what they were portrayed to be in the original post (look back if you missed it).

But objectively speaking, the pick indeed could be a mistake.

I just hope it isn't.

Yea, he never said it was a mistake but he implied it. It's obvious what he tried to say.

I'm in disbelief as to why so many people passionately speak out against Cam. If you want to call him a risk, that's fine, but some I don't understand this anti-Cam mob.

You can't deny that he's a risk, I'll give them that. You also can't deny that he's got the most upside in this draft.

No one said Kurt Warner was going to be a NFL quarterback at all so that shows how much what people think matters.

That's exactly what I was thinking when I was listening to Warner talk. I'm sure Warner is glad he actually got a chance when pretty much no one thought he should.

when did raising valid points ever become hating?

Cam Newton is not a homerun. people who point that out are not hating. there is a chance he could bust. my god this forum has become a sad, pathetic hole of inept human beings. is this real life?!?!?!

Funny, someone simply disagrees with our pick and our fans call them haters. lol

or, what she said.. :)

you ever think that maybe people aren't Anti-Cam on some crusade, but maybe they are simply pointing out the OBVIOUS?!

Like Gruden said moderate risk, high reward. His bust factor was overstated by many, myself included. Fact is i wanted defense first or a trade down. But now that he is a Panther we can add another young QB to the carousel. Hope he works out cause we may be in the cellar of the NFC for awhile.

Warner is a bitch now. He forgot where he came from and how biased and wrong analysts can be when they judge a player harshly, right off the bat.

What is funny is that if Warner had said positive things about Cam, everyone here would be slurping all over him. The fact that he is critical of the pick is sending everyone off the deep end.

Everyone knows I did not like the pick. Not because I hate Cam or even think he is going to bust. The pick was just too risky for my blood.

He has big upside, but has huge bust potential as well.

If he lives up to his ceiling, something special will be happening in Charlotte. If he lives down to his bust potential (and that potential is very real), it will be a bust of epic proportions....Leaf and Russell proportions.

I trust Rivera and Shula at this point. They worked out....interviewed...critiqued....watched tape....tested him...etc as much as they could. If they are sold that he is the guy, I trust that decision a hell of a lot more than mine.

I do NOT trust Hurney with this pick. His drafting and evaluation of QB talent has been poor at best.

Cam is a Panther now and that makes me a fan of his.

At a minimum, it definitely will be interesting.
