Will Steve Smith Stay ?

If thats the case I have to wonder what happened? Did Smith try to assert dominance and Chico tackled him? Or did Rivera call Smith shorty or small stuff?

These all need to be answered Dammit

Could be a lot of things.

Rivera comes off as a very "my way or the highway' personality, and not likely one to kiss a veteran's butt. I sense that Smitty got a fair amount of deference from Fox that he probably wouldn't have gotten from Rivera.

On the flipside, Smith's recent bout of 'maybe I'll stay, maybe I won't' might not have sat well with a guy who wants to know his vets are on board.

Any speculation on this topic is just that.

My guess is that Steve is probably at odds with himself over the question of staying or leaving.

I mean, look. I think he acts like a jerk a lot of times, but I have no doubt the guy has a heart and feels a sence of loyalty to the Panthers organization. But given his competitive (and by some folks' definition, selfish) nature, there's a reasonable case for him to move on.

If he decides to stick around, all I'd ask, as a fan, is that he demonstrate patience and a positive attitude with whatever the developments at QB (and franchise wide) might occur in the coming months.

If he decides to move on, I simply ask that the organization makes a trade worthy of his talent and what he's represented in Carolina.

Now that the Panthers " Supa Star Quata Back " Has been drafted what will Steve Smith do now ?

I've been wondering that all day. It would be a huge loss if he left especially after drafting Cam. Especially if Cam was a way to appease the team is some sort of way.

The Falcons now have White and Jones. What the fug...

The window of opportunity to get as much for him as possible was nailed shut by the Labor Dispute and the inability to trade picks AND players. I believe there would have been teams more apt to trade a pick for a deal that included Steve Smith. I still see Smitty wanting out of Carolina and Carolina making it happen.

I would like Smith to be here because I believe that he has some good years left in him and I've always liked him. However I'll temper that by saying that I ONLY want him here if he can behave. I respect and understand that he's getting older and wants to win now but if that attitude causes him to be a problem for the younger players on this team (especially our QBs) then it's best if he's not.
