By all means mr scot, if you draft a guy number 1, you do intend on him being the franchise. Not that he is a superstar right now,but we have alot invested in him.

I wake up very proud of the Panthers today. They showed me and a lot of other people something last night. Today I applaud and salute Marty Hurney, Ron Rivera, Jerry Richardson, the other owners of the Panthers, and the entire FO. You guys showed a lot of guts and courage making this pick. No doubt about it, it was a bold move for a franchise that has prided itself on being ultra conservative since its inception. To jump out of your comfort zone like that isnt easy, so I trust that management really believes this is going to work. IMO, there's no bigger statement the team can make to tell me that they believe in and support the black QB. This kind of commitment, this kind of pub, Im very very proud of the Carolina Panthers. Easily, one of the best moves theyve ever made. Its gonna pay off, you drafted him, now they are coming!!!!

I want to give the FO and management their props which they deserve. The Panthers are now pioneers. You gotta put us up with the Steelers and the Eagles. Latin HC, black QB, Panthers have silenced their critics like myself who've been vocal about their lack of diversity.

because the reality is that drafting Cam Newton actually gave us less to talk about than we did before we drafted him... since before it, we had other prospects to talk about. ;)

He cant be just a QB, he's held to a higher standard. He's viewed a little differently and I think a lot of us have seen that or will see that. You need to accept that. Its not the end of the world, its reality. Again, Im up here giving the team props and you guys are taking it as a negative.

Because you shouldn't have to give the team props for drafting a black QB. You built up this racial bias in your head and now you think the Panthers have somehow done something worth applauding.
