Quick note on The Golden Calf of Bristol...

He was drafted over Clausen.

The Golden Calf of Bristol has better NFL stats than Clausen.

If Newton is ONLY another The Golden Calf of Bristol, we're getting an upgrade.

Clausen would have had better stats playing for the Broncos. Scoring wasn't the Broncos problem - stopping other teams from scoring more was.

Those are The Golden Calf of Bristol's only starts. Moore has a much larger body of work to realize he isn't a great QB.

Book is still out on The Golden Calf of Bristol but his 3 starts were as productive if not more productive than any other rookie QB. And he was the "least NFL ready". Imagine when he is "NFL ready" WOWZERS!!

We all thought Moore was the answer because of those few starts.....and it looks like it is not.

You are using 3 starts to try and justify that a player like The Golden Calf of Bristol is worthy of a #1 overall pick.

Matt was actually given the keys to the car b/c of that season you nitpicked.....car crashed a year later.

that was my point.

You CANNOT use 3-4 games of mop up duty at the end of the season to evaluate anything. Yet, he was trying to use those 3 starts to say somone with a similar skillset as The Golden Calf of Bristol is worthy of the 1st overall pick.

No I didn't. I think Cam Newton is 10x the prospect The Golden Calf of Bristol is. Other people asked if we should pick The Golden Calf of Bristol #1. They are two totally different prospects.

But his success only gives me more confidence that a superior prospect can succeed to an even higher degree than The Golden Calf of Bristol did last season and therefore be worthy of the #1 pick.

Trying to extrapolate the stats of The Golden Calf of Bristol over his past 3 games to a full season is comical at best.

Matt Moore threw for over a thousand yards with 8 TD's in 5 games. By your logic, he is a 24TD and 3,000 yard QB. If so, why would we want Cam?

and it has been stated professionally that The Golden Calf of Bristol got a lot of goal line opportunities last year

The Golden Calf of Bristol ran the ball...The Golden Calf of Bristol would look downfield (like Orton). No reason to believe Clausen would have done better......he played just like a ND and that wouldn't have meshed in the Bronco's offense.

This has to be one of the most assertive and presumptuous things I think I have read on here since the end of the season till now.

What the hell are you possibly basing this off of?

Clausen's throwing mechanics? Well, that can't be, his release was too low. He was hitting people's feet, and getting balls batted down constantly.

Clausen's pocket awareness? Well, that can't be either, as he ran out of pocket all the time, rarely stepped up to make throws, and checked down like a Middle School QB.

Clausen's accuraccy? LOL... do we really need to go there?

I mean, if he was a NFL starting quality QB, he would have shown SOMETHING consistently. The only consistent thing he showed was how to suck. Oh and how to avoid getting called for intentional grounding.

He might be an OK backup one day. That's it. The Golden Calf of Bristol will have a much better career.... already has actually.

To a large degree you can. I have always said Moore was a younger Jake based on how he played. In 2010 we finally got to taste that negative that comes w/ that type of QB play.

The Golden Calf of Bristol was the most productive rookie QB in his starts......and he was not even suppose to survive per some if he stepped on a field. The Golden Calf of Bristol has no control of his coach and what a team wants to do. There is no way I could say Sam Bradford looked like a better QB. he started more games.....that is about it. Just b/c Fox doesn't want to work w/ a unique QB doesn't change last year.

Cam looks to transition better than The Golden Calf of Bristol.
