Damn Clausen making Smith drop those very catchable balls. I don't know how we could possibly be successful with Clausen on this team, no matter who is the actual QB. He shouldn't even be a ball boy, but as long as he is on the team, we have someone to blame. Whew, that makes it all worth while.

Smith has been dropping balls for a few years......Smith was productive in games Clausen was on th bench and completely a worthless asset when Clausen was on the field.

There's just to much at stake for us to risk the 1st pick on Cam. Mainly because we don't even have a 2nd round pick, so we have to nail this 1st pick to be good for years to come. I just don't see Rivera and Hurney throwing away their future if Cam turns out to be a bust.

Has anyone thought about bringing in Vince Young to replace the Cam lovers? He's basically the same type player, only more accurate with throwing the football. This makes the most sense to me since everyone wants a QB that can run with the ball obviously.

doing nothing is likely a worse career move if you are Rivera.....

VY has already cracked under the pressure of the NFL and doesn't appear to be the type guy you want in your lockerroom as a QB.....that is a key difference between how Cam projects and what Young has proven.

VY has proven he isn't a franchise QB. VY has proven you can't count on him. When you know someone doesn't have what you need.....no point wasting time.

Green would be great for the future, assuming he does well in the NFL (no one is a lock). But as for this season, Green wouldn't do a damn thing for us since the FA QB pool is trash. So if the FO wants to build and be good in 3-4 years, Green would be a nice pick.

Really, when Kerry Collins started the season off 0-8 for the Titans, in came VY and lead the team to 8-0 to finish off the season. But if that isn't a leadership skill that Carolina is looking for, then I'm not sure what you're looking for?

yeah, and that had nothing to do Chris Johnson pulling a 2008 DeAngleo Williams and flat out going off late that season. When don't you look up CJ's stats the 2nd half of that year.
