This is prob already posted but its so F'in sweet i gotta post it.

"A non-exclusive franchise player designation gives Carolina a first-refusal right to match within seven days an offer sheet given to Peppers by another club. If the Panthers match the offer, they would retain Peppers. If not, they would receive two first-round draft choices."

Well holy balls that pretty damn good. There has to be a team that is going to offer him something. What kinda first round picks would we get???

That scenario hasn't happened in the League since 2000 when Dallas shipped two #1 picks to Seattle for Joey Galloway.

Most times teams work out a trade instead of signing them to an offer sheet. Like Jared Allen last year.

Marty's just playing hardball quoted the CBA franchise tag rules verbatim.
