Actually, I think that equivalent would be 2008 run game vs 2004-2007.

I think this running attach is more explosive than Davis was. The integrating of some zone blocking schemes with power runs is what leads to those big plays. Henning's rush attack was pretty consistent in the types of runs called, plus Davis was one type and Foster was another. Both our backs now run very similar both can attack in every aspect which is less predictable causing those big runs. I am starting to like our O-line more, but the line in 03 was nasty and mean and had bad attitudes which is another reason we ran good back then. I voted 08 because the future looks bright!

Unlike 2003, our entire running game (with the exception of Gross probably) will be around for a while to come. Not to mention we're doing a lot better and we don't have any black marks tainting our success.

Precisely. More yards per carry, more TDs, more yards per game, hardly any fumbles, etc. etc.
