LOL, one of the guys on the show said he was in the WC offense and the play Gruden threw out on Gruden's QB Camp with came wasn't a normal play call, it included 3 formations and two protection schemes... Gruden was just doing it to mess with him.

I thought this was the case, the play call sounded absurdly long to me... I understand these playcalls are long but that was absurd.

I sure hope the rest of the team expects to be relevant again this season. Settling for Mediocrity is not a good look for the locker room. It worries me a Lil bit that our perennial Pro bowl O lineman thinks like this!

I cant quote what Jordan Gross said but did listen and I did not at all get the same impression you did. He talked about how the team will be better, improved and good next season BUT not a Super Bowl team BUT that in the next two years they should be at that level, but to expect the team to get there quick. That sounds good to me.

You cant rip the guy for that. People need to be realistic. The Panthers are not going to go from 2-14 to the Superbowl in one season, and that is pretty much what Gross was saying.

Maybe not a long spiel, but DeAngelo is adamant that taking a defensive player will not help the offense. He says "The defense is not the issue. The offense is the issue." And defends players like Landri and Irving, pointing out the criticisms of CJ before he put up double digit sacks last season.

Doesn't sound like DeAngelo's going to give an answer though.

Truthfully, an offensive guy wanting an offensive player is no shock. Ditto a defensive guy wanting a defensive player (i.e. Davis wanting Peterson).

Gross went against the grain by picking a defensive guy.

I seriously doubt Newton - or any other player - would find it a big deal that someone predicted they wouldn't be the pick. Doesn't really qualify as "burning a bridge".
