Smith wants out, prefers Chargers or Ravens

Even if we could get a 3rd round pick. it wouldnt be to a good team most likely. Are you ok with shipping smitty to some other poohole?

But thats my point. A good team picking late in the 2nd wouldn't mind giving up that late 2nd because they wouldn't really need it. It would be expendable

Neither was Randy Moss and all Oakland could get was a fourth....

Yea and Moss is potentially a first ballot hall of famer in a few years...Smith isn't. The only way we get the value Smith brings to the team is if another team is stupid. The only stupid FOs are bad teams and what's the point of sending him to another bad team?

They just wanted to dump Moss and didn't care who they got for him. They thought he was done. If the Pats would have tried to trade Moss at the end of their 18-1 season they would have demanded at least a 2nd.

and this year they traded him for a third round pick and that was mid season to a COMPLETELY DESPERATE Vikings team... And TBH, Smitty just may not command the value of Moss in a trade at this point because of past injuries, decrease in production, seeming loss of a step...

However, I think a third is on the outside of possibilities depending on who it is and how desperate they are, but it's more likely to be next year, not this... I can't imagine anything above a third though, not unless we find someone mid season who thinks they are one speedy receiver away from competing (and as we've seen, that seems to get you a third anyway).

doubt it just based on previous trades, plus teams know smith doesnt have too much left. They wont give up a second when there are still some very good WR that could produce right away and are only going to get better
