Why exactly would he say all these things but not announce the pick? If he was that high on Newton why would he want to trade down? It's just weird to me.

Now, my problem is this... If this is the case, why hasn't Hurney just come out and said "We will be making Cam Newton the #1 overall pick on draft night"? Something doesn't seem right.

I was just thinking the other day how this is the first draft in years that the #1 pick wasn't already decided by the week of the draft. Something is just off about it...
