Audioquest HDMI cables have changed my life...

It is what it is... That is my dealer cost, I still mark it up a few points before I pass it on to the client...

My point is is that its a bunch of marketing to make one believe they are getting something that others arent. Like all these TVs that boast 10000:1 contrast ratio. Contrast ratio is the measurement from the blackest black to the whitest white, the human eye can only see 800:1. So what is the point of boasting something greater? Most people dont know that about the eye, and it sells more TVs...

On the other hand, we can't "see" more than 30fps either (debatable), but you can definitely tell it in both movies and video games.

as i understand it the human eye is able to perceive differences up to and past 200fps. The "differences" though have more to do with motion blur vs clarity and how we are accustomed to seeing things.

there's a reason that the majority of films are still shot at 24fps. 24fps is what we've learned movies are supposed to look like.

+1 for digital signal is digital signal. there is no degradation.

That is my point, though. Just because the eye isn't supposed to perceive any difference at some X level doesn't mean that there aren't other effects from the same phenomenon we don't notice.

^^^ Its the same audio over both of those and include the coaxial digital audio in there as well. With the HDMI it is just pumped over the cable along side the HD video, but all 3 will achieve the same 5.1 or 7.1 surround sound. Not too long ago the AVRs werent pulling the audio out of the HDMI so it was required to run an additional coax or fiber to accommodate. Digital audio is digital audio, regardless of the cable carrying the signal...
