How did we get to the number one pick?

I believe our downward spiral started way back when Kris Jenkins called the team out by saying no one was playing with heart. The Panthers instead of helping the players just sent Kris out of town so that they didn’t have to hear it.

Then was the time to bring in new coaches or to do things to get players motivated, not send one of our best players out the door so you don’t hear all the whining.

The coaches lost the players that season (thats why Peppers wanted out so bad, he didnt believe he coaches could help him progress)

Of course Hurney had his hand in this:

Never drafting a QB to replace Delhomme as soon as he hurt the elbow.

Never drafting a DT to replace Kemo ... DT's can’t play forever

Giving up so much for Armanti, when he could have been picked up later (I am an Armanti fan, I was happy to see us get him)

I could go on and on about Hurney.

When do you think it all started toward the number 1 pick?

after Jenkins said Carolina had no heart.....I think the following season we won 12 games and considered by many to be the best team in the NFC heading into the playoffs.

We got here b/c of a tag team duo of a washed up Jake and a horrific Clausen being thrown out on a football field game after game as they mounted up loses almost single handedly.

Richardson tanked the season last year...he already admitted it.....he wanted to show the NFL that you don't have to pay top dollar for players and can use rookies and still win....he did this with the belief that the Panthers would be competitive and that he could say..."See dis! Ya downt havta signed dem hiii dolla playas ta win!".....it BLEW UP in his face.

I thought we already went over this?

I blame Fox keeping Delhomme in during the 09 season despite pick after pick after pick. Had Moore been brought when Jake started F'ing up one of two things would have happened. 1) Jake would have had time to sober up and his confidence wouldn't have continued to be shattered game after game, perhaps salvaging his career. 2) Matt would have done decent like he did the rest of that season and went into 2010 with full confidence on him as a starter boosting team and coach morale.

      I remember the Huddle consensus over the course of last season and the previous one. Lots of Bryce is a bust, we should've drafted a 4th slot WR, should've kept Wilks, should've kept an armless Cam, etc etc. So... yea... already thought about that. I wouldn't trust the Huddle to detail my car, let alone run a multi-billion dollar professional sports team. 😛

      bold prediction, I think Mike Green will be the best pass rusher in this class, and thats even with abdul carter.  He reminds me of demarcus ware, not just in size and prowess, but even coming from a Sunbelt school (Ware from Troy, Green from Marshall).  I think he is passionate about the sport where I think Carter as the physical freak might not have the heart.  Thats the guy Im sold on and am gonna hammer the table for, I know he's not projected 8, but he is projected like 12-13, so if a slide back can happen and we still get the guy I want, I'm 100% on board. All that said, it takes 2 to tango, I think the Cowboys are the tango-er.  IMO theres a VERY good shot that Jeanty is available at 8.  Why does that matter?  Not only do the cowboys NEED a runningback (dak sucks without a run game), but MORE importantly, gee where did Jeanty play in high school.....Frisco TX, literally Dallas Metro.  Soo, RB is a position of need and the best RB and most blue chip draft selection that  could improve the offense immensly played IN dallas metro AND will be in range for them to move up and pick?  Do ya think Jerry Jones is gonna just say no to the Jersey Sales?  Jerry might have sexually assaulted a woman and attempted to prevent black people from going to school, but he's no idiot (he is).  IMO, we get a good enough package, prlly their first and third,  maybe a conditional later and we move to 12.  We get Green, they get Jeanty, everbuddy happy.
