Because they are reporting on NFL network that there could possibly be some trades before the draft.

First of all my understanding was that Rivera was leaving it up to Smith so if any trades happen right away, it will be Smith's choice not Rivera's. Secondly, I doubt that a trading partner would be easy to find. Unless Smith is willing to renegotiate his contract which would have to be done before the trade is finalized, I doubt anyone is going to pay him 16 million over the next 2 years. Honestly we might be pressed to find a trade partner at all.

I think he said, "Steve will determine if the Panthers are a good fit for him and we will determine if SS is a good fit for us." or something to that effect.

Cleaned out his locker, house for sale, even his stadium box supposedly has been stripped of Smith photos and memorablila. Now there could be free agency and trades during the draft--theoretically. The tea leaves do not look good.

Texans fan here and we've been hearing rumblings that we might be getting Smitty in the fold to go opposite Andre'. I would love to have him in the Texans uniform as long as he knows he isn't going to be the #1 WR and is not looking for a super huge payday. IF he has done all the above then he is on the move but I just hope that move is to Houston. What round draft pick do you Panthers fans think it would take to reel him in?

Possibly, but I doubt it because I don't think trades will be possible until Monday of next week at the earliest.

Steve admitted last year he was ready for a lesser role and he'd be nasty in the slot with 3 Wr sets. I'd love to see him in Houston due to Schaub and not having to carry the offense, but his time is short and I want him to go to an immediate contender, no offense.

I'd like a second for him.

How about a good tight end and a 4th for Smitty...the Texans have to many tightends that can play but can't get them all out there.
