Vick calls for removal of Dog Fighting Android App

“I’ve come to learn the hard way that dogfighting is a dead-end street,” Vick said. “Now, I am on the right side of this issue, and I think it’s important to send the smart message to kids, and not glorify this form of animal cruelty, even in an Android app.”

May just be a PR move, but it's a good one if so... and while I am usually skeptical I think I'll take a break for this one. I'm going to believe he is actually sincere and think he has really turned the corner. Good for him!

I'm not sure if we'll ever genuinely know if he's a changed man. But so far I'd like to think so.

Yeah, I doubt we will, but all you can ask for is for a guy to seem sincere and make the effort. He seems to be doing so. Hopefully he remains an activist of sorts for this cause.

The best thing for Vick to do is STFU. Nobody wants to hear him talking about animals. You don't treat animals the way he did then come back and act compassionate towards them.

acting like dogfighting doesn't exist won't make it go away. having someone who has "been there" speaking out against it could actually have some real positive impacts... while unlikely it is possible.

while I was lukewarm on him wanting a dog this is different. this is the kind of thing he SHOULD be doing, imo.

There is something seriously wrong if he's ever allowed to own another dog.

    • Apparently it did no good. Getting spanked by the Wizards…again!
    • I'd be looking at mid to late round QBs every single draft simply because the potential ROI is so high. Hell, even if I have an entrenched starter and backup that wouldn't change the equation. Hit on one and I'd trade my entrenched backup to a desperate team and now I have a quality backup in a rookie contract to protect cap space and a potential asset to trade down the road or hell even develop into a starter if my starter is aging or has a career detailing injury or maybe the young guy simply proves to be better at some point. Once you get the the 4th or 5th round you're basically throwing darts at the board hoping to hit on something at that point. Most of those guys will prove to not be long for the league anyway.  I'm not saying reach on a guy just because he's a QB but if I have similarly rated prospects on the board and we're talking about a FB, a blocking TE, and a  OG with limited upside, well that's a no brainer to me. Roll the dice on the QB.
    • Demani Richardson has played nearly 25% of the defense snaps this season with several starts playing in 12 games.
