Draft Day Chat (Includes Instructions)

For those of you who want to spend draft night drunk and typing incoherently in a chat room. There's 3 options, all of them connect to the same chat. Use Option 3 for more of a "point and click" approach.

OPTION 1:

Instructions for Mibbit

Step 1: Goto http://mibbit.com/

Step 2: Click on "Chat Now"

Step 3:

Chat on thousands of IRC networks and connect with millions of people instantly.

Choose an IRC network, nickname and #channel

Should come up with drop down menus underneath it. If this hasn't occurred go back to step 1.

For " IRC: ", use the dropdown to select IRCHighWay [webirc]. (Drop Down to the "I"s by pressing I on the keyboard.)

Type in your Username for the "Nick" box.

And this is the most important part, for "Channel:" type in #carolinahuddle.

Include the '#'

So all filled out, an example would be

IRC: IRCHighWay [webirc]

Nick: Poopface Channel: #carolinahuddle

Step 4: Press Go

Step 5: ?????

Step 6: Profit.

You should be all set and in the the room. If any admins/mods come on from here, be sure to tell me so i can give you guys your power :/

See you guys, draft night ;3

Edit: For people with IRC clients: /server -m irc.highway.net -j #carolinahuddle

You can get an IRC client for android/iphones too.

OPTION 2:

For Android Users:

http://www.andchat.net/ - Free

http://www.yaaic.org/ - Free

and here's a link for comparisons between clients: http://blog.lassey.us/2010/06/25/android-irc-clients/

There's also ones like Android IRC(not free), etc on the market.

https://market.android.com/search?q=IRC

You can use any of these to connect to the chat. So if you're at BoA for the draft thing, you can get on your phone and check in on the chat from there. If you need help with setting this up, feel free to PM me.

OPTION 3:

ChatZilla Firefox Add-on Tutorial [if all else fails]

Step 1: get this add-on https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/chatzilla/?id=16

Step 2: click this link irc://irc.irchighway.net/carolinahuddle

or type it into your address bar.

Step 3: Chatzilla should autoload, it may take a minute or two to connect to the server. Change your nickname/username by typing in "/nick whateveryouwantyournametobe" without quotes into the window after you connect.

ALL of these methods will connect to the same chat.

the chat isn't hosted -on- the huddle. the only thing that would be lost would be these directions. Which is why i put them up this early o_o;;

Ahhh. Smart thinking.

I would have been one of those idiots trying to get in so I could refresh myself on the instructions.

Time to copy and paste. Thanks for the tip.

    • Agreed on the last part. They can’t afford to lose all these games with Martin and Perets.
    • Yes.  And this converts directly to confidence.  Does the coach have confidence to call a deep dig or seam route?  Does Bryce have confidence in his ability to be the Alpha?  Do his teammates have confidence.  About film--when I see Cam Newton's pre-snap confidence vs. Bryce's, it is night and day.   Film--tells you if the WRs are open (why l love watching the Replay telecasts from the end zone cameras--you can see it.  I have seen 2 WRs open and Bryce's eyes are on the outlet WR or the pass rush. )  You can see progressions, and he has improved a bit--but he is very quick to rush through 1 and 2 and checkdown--that is a lack of confidence in his ability to read the defense.  I had a former NFL TE (Deems Maye) who played QB in high school (not sure about college) tell me that the best QBs read the defense by knowing where everyone will be when the ball is to arrive--not where they are.  I think his QB at the time was Humphries.  He said that Humphries would throw the ball into coverage before the cuts etc.  because he understood DB momentum, zone areas, etc.  and he could just see it.  Said so when people say nobody was open, they are usually right because nobody should be "open" when the QB has the ball--when the ball arrives, everyone should be open.  He said Humphries was never "great" but his skills were limited--from a small school--but his ability to read a defense made him never give up on a route.
