Who's still going to be ok if we don't draft the guy you want?

I'd like Newton but would be ok if we choose someone else. Also, even though I think taking DT #1 in a deep class doesn't make that much sense, I would be content with it. I mean we are a 2-14 team. Anyone we pick would help. We can't be set back any further by any pick we choose when John Fox has already set us back. Can't go anywhere but up from here.

Meh as long as we don't reach for a guy who has a second round grade at number one overall I won't complain to much. I have faith that the coaching staff has done their homework and is ready to make the pick that benefits the team the most....

I don't believe the whole "reaching for a guy" thing people complain about. If a team wants a guy and believe that he will help the team out, that's all that should matter. The ones who create these charts to tell us whether we're reaching or not are just a bunch of talking heads anyway.

I'll be dissapointed just like I was when they drafted Clausen last year..but I will go with who they pick and hope it was the right move..will take a couple of years to truly pan/praise their choice.

See above post.....no way you should draft a guy like Ponder number one overall when his stock is anywhere from 15-40. If you want that guy fine, trade down and pick up extra picks and get him or trade back up and get him if your scouting department has him as a franchise guy.....

There are 2 players I would absolutely have a cow over. For the most part, I trust our FO to make the right decision and ultimately will accept anyone we take.

This is exactly right.

I wouldn't mind taking Christian Ponder, but definitely no where near the #1 pick. If you want a player like that, that you know not many other teams have high on their board, trade down and get him + picks, or, package some picks and trade up.

There isn't a choice here... We have to all some how convince each other and ourselves that they made the right pick... Then get behind the pick, and hopefully watch the pick flourish in our system! That's about all we can do as fans!

Well i didn't mean that far of a reach...i think if it isn't a HUGE reach then we should be content with it because in the end what the coaches think trump what talking heads think.

As much as I don't want Newton or Gabbert, if we take either one I will back them to the fullest and try too convince myself Hurney is good with first round picks and maybe I was just wrong.
