My Big Board

being 1st overall is going to command the same amount especially since we can negotiate a contract; sure we might take dareus if we could get him to take less then a number 1 might normally get but with the nonCBA we have no leverage like that..also i'm assuming 2010 rules are going to be in affect for this year just like the teams are unless a deal gets done saying otherwise.

I don't see how that means you'd pay Dareus what Bradford got last year... but maybe a bit more than what Suh got.

No, I'm not saying Locker is a bust, as a matter of fact I think Newton will be the bust. I wouldn't have a problem with Locker rated ahead of Newton, even Mayock had it that way originally.

My point is, the reasons you listed are flawed. If you wanted to cite complexity of the offenses, Locker making more than one read, Locker not being a one year wonder then I'd be more inclined to agree, but your reasoning is just out of left field. Newton produced better numbers with a weak supporting cast in a far superior conference.

I'm confused....I believe he is a great athlete, great leader, and more accurate than people think? I'm not sure how that's out of left field...but I understand if you disagree.

I am not near as concerned as many others about positions....and I think many teams get themselves in trouble by worrying about "value positions". I think you win games with good players...and we need good players.

How is he more accurate than what people think? We've all seen the passes he missed on, we see his below avg completion percentage and his results in college.

Now, I do think his accuracy can be fixed rather easily as he transitions further away from baseball, but as of right now his accuracy doesn't begin to compare to Cam's.

I can tell you right now that 90% of the supposed "fans" on thus site base Cam's accuracy in Gruden's QB camp!!!

If we're going off of that which like I said 90% of the people in here are doing than Locker looked WAaaaaay better than Cam!

I'm just saying!

I'm basing it on watching him throw at the combine and at his pro day. However, he did struggle at Gruden's camp a little.

However, the accuracy issue was with regard to Locker, not Newton.

Instead of saying, you should just pay attention.

accuracy from the QB camp?? did I miss something? we saw like three throws. a lot of people are judging him on his combine and pro day tho.

I base it more on the games I saw him play...

accuracy is not the same as completion percentage... Locker's got better accuracy than a completion percentage suggests but I don't know how accurate he is compared to other prospects (that takes a lot of work comparing the two). I certainly think Gabbert is way more accurate but I am a Gabbert homer, so :P

but I was kinda disappointed in Locker when he really didn't do very well at the Senior Bowl... was hoping he'd light it up and skyrocket his stock.

I was paying attention Dick!!! And I didn't include you in the 90% tahr were doing that! You seem to actually know what you're talking about. I will NOT sit here and be talked to like a damn child though! That won't happen!

Mac 1234...

I agree with you as far as locker is concerned. My point earlier referred to "casual" fans who show up twice a year... Draft time, and after the season. They don't actually watch college games or the Senior bowl. You can always tell who they are too with their very generic posts, and or direct quotes they take from Sports Center.

I'm not high on Gabbert, but I trust that WHOMEVER we pick was due to way more info than ANY fan would have at his disposal! I won't be shocked if we go with a defensive player! It's Rivera's team now and the dude is a defensive genius!

We have no choice but to see how this all plays out!
