If you are suggesting that they have made bad picks, its a weak argument....who hasn't? I'm not a Pats fan, I just have the ability to see greatness in other teams. The Spurs are the best drafting team in the NBA, and as much as it pains me to say, doesn't change the truth.

They do consistently rank among the top in the league in homegrown Pro Bowlers. These guys also played well in the playoffs and won titles, unlike our guys. To pretend otherwise is really bad homerism.

I simply make an effort to not be a homer.

And this ridiculous "Grass is always greener" notion that most "anti-homer" folks carry is even more absurd.

The Patriots draft's haven't just had weak players. They've had weak drafts overall, to look at that list and assume anything otherwise is ludicrous. They're ability to scout college talent has been less than the league par. They've gotten lucky with a few good hits, but they're true strength has come from their Randy Moss' and their Rodney Harrisons.

Just because ESPN drools every time the Pats trade back, doesn't change the fact that the players they typically end up selecting aren't usually garbage.

Heck, maybe the reason the Pats trade back and try to acquire so many picks is because they know they can't scout talent well. You could call their ability to realize their own weaknesses a strength-but you certainly couldn't call their drafting ability one-because it's been pretty ugly.

I'm shocked you think I don't get it. They drafted more PBers than anyone last year. I would bet they drafted more PBers than anyone over the last decade.

Are Pro Bowlers your number one gauge of talent? No doubt you factored in the popularity aspect of it? Or was the Cowboys 6-10 record a mere reflection of their great talent as well, because as you mentioned-they had the all important title of sending the second most amount of players!!!....Gee wowza what an honor! Did you subtract votes for the popularity of each player?

Your basing your entire argument off of a popularity contest and completely ignoring what the Patriots have actually done in the draft. Like I said, if you want to play the Fiz-style "Grass is Always Greener" card then be my guest-but at least use a team that can actually stand up to what your proclaiming them to be.

I've simply stating that the Pat's drafting ability has been less than what you would want from your team. They've gotten some good talents, but after that, they've been pretty terrible. My friend here sees how many Pro Bowlers they had last year. Calls it the defining proof that the Pats are great at scouting college talent.

Sorry, I interpreted this question as you making a statement that you didn't think they had anyone decent that they drafted.

Do they have any decent players on their team that they drafted?

I personally think the Patriots are one of the best drafting team in the NFL, at least of the last decade. I do think they are beginning to slip a bit so we'll see if they can recover.
