Im not sure hurney and Rivera got that long. But the funny thing about that you can say the same for dareus I cant see him having a suh impact or mario Williams or Peppers. Dont get me wrong the guy is a stud DT but do you wanna pay somebody almost 40 to 50 Million who isnt going to get about 5 to 6 sacks a year.I mean im just saying. I just dont know who it might be. It kind of makes me say F*** it lets just take Von Miller at least we know we might have a stud who is going to produce.

I wouldn't take a DT who just eats up space for 50 million either..we certainly didn't pay Kemo or Jenkins that much lol.

lolololololol no

someones sig here, I believe "number28" said it best.

"Dareus may not be as hot a name because he's been out there as a top draft prospect for so long... "

Drafting a DT will never be the same after Suh. Everyone is going to want DT's to live up to the hype of Suh and it will probably never happen again. There is a reason many called Suh a once in a generation prospect.

Dareus is about as good as it gets as a prospect.

On a defensive line as good as Alabama's he had a grand total of 11 sacks in his career? 0 forced fumbles? This guy is not an impact player, especially not worthy of #1 overall. People thought Peppers had a ridiculous contract in 2008...yet some are willing to give potentially $60 million+ to a DT with 11 career sacks and 0 forced fumbles? $5.5 million per college sack?

Last season, Hurney tried to trade up to get Clausen. He offered our first this season.

Unless you can cite actual sources for this weak rumor, it's pure speculation. I've heard the same rumor but it's never had any credibility. Hate when rumors get repeated so much they start getting communicated as fact.

and we complained when Jake got his monster contract lol

i guess people expected him to learn imaginary plays and verbage on his own time.

If you saw any of the other QB Gruden episodes, like Mallett's...he quickly responded to verbage and accompanied that with whiteboard drawings of plays very quickly. I think that's what people are looking for.

because he was taught those plays and verbage..he didn't just know them from outta nowhere.

How many Super Bowls did McNair have? Oh, only as many as Delhomme...none and one appearance. The OPs premise is severely flawed.

You can tell if someone is a football newbie that started paying attention to the Panthers in 2003 if they honestly are trying to compare Kerry Collins to Steve McNair. Anybody that remembers knows that Collins wasn't in McNair's ballpark. Collins was mediocre at best in Carolina and flat-out awful, drunk, and a quitter at his worst. McNair, on the other hand, went on to be a co-MVP and one of the best in the game.

we certainly wouldn't of kicked McNair out like Tennessee did..makes you wonder.
