Why We wont draft a QB this Year

I can't go as far as saying he can win the starting job this offseason but as far a developmental QB's go, Pike is a great project. Several teams were scratching at the change to pick him up should he have been cut or placed on the practice squad.

London67, you mentioned Tom Brady and that is a easy comparison based on where they were drafted but for me Pike reminds me of Aaron Rodgers coming out of college.

My biggest concern right now is that IMO most of the realistic QB options we have going into next season seem to be better suited for either a E/P system or a WCO system. Clausen, Pike, Newton, Gabbert, Locker, Kolb , McNabb and Hasselbeck. The QB's that IMO are more suited to a Coryell system are Moore, Mallett, Voleck and Bulger and really we all know none of those options are very appealing from a fanbase standpoint.

But I'm not a GM or a coach so I could be way off on those assessments.

Pike was a system QB at cincy.

He was out for a good bit and they never lost a beat.
