Some of you want Moore & Newton

I think you misunderstood the bet.

You said he has one option, I said he has more than one option.

The only way to prove the correctness of the statements is if Moore isn't here because:

A: He could only have one option and sign here (you are correct)

B: He could have more than one option and ultimately choose to sign here (I'm correct)

So in order to determine a winner, Moore cannot be here

Do you see how that works?

Moore is coming off surgery and needs to convince people that 2010 was the abberation not 2009. He is no position to dictate terms or expect that much interest from other teams. He will get paid at least 3 million or more to play and start if he can. Just like last year he will be in the mix to start. He knows that this is the year for him to prove himself. To show the injury is not a factor and that he can start in the NFL. He knows that Newton isn't ready so this becomes a contract year for him. Anywhere he goes, he is going to prove himself. I expect it will be with the Panthers who have stood by him through two season of injuries and still want him.

I totally disagree. If we draft Cam Newton, it's pretty damn good scenario for Matt Moore.

Cam Newton is so far behind, Moore's only competition will be Jimmy "Where is Goodson?" Clausen. This will guarantee Moore starts the season as the Panthers QB, where he can show the NFL world what he can do without a lame duck offensive coaching staff that might have made Tom Brady look average.

Maybe he holds off Newton forever (or maybe Newton just never develops). Maybe he turns into a star in his own right. But as long as he keeps playing well, in a year or two he'd get a huge offer from some team when we part ways.

I have no doubt there is interest right now... but I personally think there would be even more interest when he was coming off a strong season.

If you look at that way. regarding CamSlamming

And TRD, I think we can agree on one thing. MATT MOORE, will be the Panthers starter for the 2011-2012 season if a CBA is in place.

Please don't list seasons like that unless you mean the 2011 and the 2012 seasons. That is not how seasons are labeled in the NFL. Get with it.

He could but there is a huge risk that the FO and fans demand Newton get in before he is ready, regardless of how Moore plays. Not sure he'll want to take that risk in what could be his last chance to start.

I think if anything is gonna give him a better deal he may go, but if we assume all else is equal, if he plays well here or elsewhere, I think he'd end up with a big contract if he moves on from that team.

The FO might put Newton in before he is ready, in which case Newton would look like Clausen, and if Moore wasn't injured we'd likely see him again before the end of the season.

I dunno, I think it could be a great scenario to be in front of a guy who very well could turn out to not be ready for the NFL game for a year or three if at all. Most starters have a guy pushing them from day one... or they should, if they're a FA like Moore would be.

No matter where Moore is, if he struggles, the FO of that team would consider putting in the other guy... I realize you're saying that even if Moore is lighting it up, if we're losing people may push for Newton, but if Moore is lighting it up it won't hurt his chance of starting some place else the year after.

also as a note I'd be kinda pissed if we had the option to bring Moore back, declined because we drafted a rookie, that rookie was a bust, we were left with Clausen starting and Moore is off tearing it up some place. >: |

I would just laugh, every single day, at almost every poster here.

I specified it so you couldn't misinterpret my intended meaning like you usually do to everyone except your clan of marble scratchers.
