dareus refuses to be derailed

Nah, we're pretty much staying a Carolina Panthers football forum that talks about football and hopefully not one that talks about the image of itself projecting into the interweb

This guy as much as you hate to admit could possibly be our choice and some people would like to chat about, joke, & analyze him.

Why you inflate everything boggles me

What am I inflating?

Some analysts have us taking AJ Green. Some are saying Dareus.

But a crap ton of analysts have us taking Newton at #1.

We've been through Fairley. We've been through Gabbert. We've been through Peterson. Newton has our GM talking. He has our Coach talking. I'd say right now, the chance of Newton being the pick is about 95%.

You want to talk about Dareus, you should also talk about why you think our #18 ranked DEFENSE needs a #1 draft pick overall, when our #32 ranked offense has no consideration for that spot.

*I* was not the person who brought up Cam incidentally.

That's cool and I do respect your opinions on these guys...so let's talk about Dareus in the Dareus thread regardless if you personally brought up that 95% guy or not

Is it that hard to ask?

Awesome.

He's a talented DT. Will be a great pick for whomever gets him. Probably won't be us

There's really not much else to say. Oh, except he played under Nick Saban, and Saban is an idiot. But that probably won't affect Dareus much.

Funny you keep focusing on Cam's ability to avoid the pass rush when one of Dareus' best highlights is him sacking Newton making him look flat-footed in the process. Also, you don't fix an oline problem with pass protection by drafting a mobile QB, you fix the line itself.

To me it's a complete toss up between Newton and Dareus.

That must be why he has won two National Championships, and has a statue of himself outside of Alabama, right?

Oh you Crimson Tide people... fiercely loyal... to a fault.

Well, we can not talk about the oversigning thing... or maybe we should forget about his stint with the Dolphins...

But don't take my word for it. He can make himself look like an idiot without any help from me.

(Don't really want to start this discussion. This is the Panthers section, but since you insist on calling names, and making it personal, then here we go.)

It's just funny so many people take shots at Saban, but the guy is a legend. (I'm not an Alabama fan, btw. I have no college football loyalties what-so-ever, I only watch college football to get to know the prospects).

Not counting his stint in the NFL, which, yes, it was brutal, Nick Saban is 134-53-1. He's won 2 National Championships, 3 SEC Championships, and has twice been the AP Coach of the Year.

The guy may not be media savvy, but I think his resume speaks for itself.

Not calling you names. If you aren't a Crimson Tider... then it doesn't apply.

But if we gauge college coaches like we gauge college QBs around here... I can say this:

"College success is meaningless!!!!11"

He lacked what it took to have success in the pros, so he slinked off to Alabama. What Saban did was recruit well. A little too well, hence his controversy.

Legend? Not really... He's known by many as an idiot. Did you not read the article I linked?

With Rivera coming from both a 4-3 and a 3-4 background, he might be very interested in a guy that could be versitile and big enough to play both schemes if they decide to throw some different looks out there in the coming seasons.
