How far could Cam Fall?

I don't. We've had it out several times now... I never had a problem with him until the Cam threads... Same with Scot and a couple others. This sh*t is ridiculous.

Meh, we all feel like Cam will put the Panthers in the basement, which would cause harm to the Panthers, and he could possibly put a very bad image on the Panthers. I don't really like anyone who would cause harm to the Panthers nor do they, thus, hate.

Why is it okay to have 100 Cam hugger threads by the same people but having 5 anti Cam threads is terrible?

I don't know about that man. If we're going off purely football reasons, I really think Cam is the best pick especially with our need for a QB. I know you and some others obviously don't agree and I can respect that.

But, my problem is that a great deal of the "haters" threads and posts attack him for non-football reasons, or at least they have. Straight up man, I never had any arguments with Scot or TRD that I could remember, in fact, we agreed on a lot of things... Yet, both of them insulted me and/or my intelligence on multiple occasions as a result of Cam threads, unprovoked.

I look at it as these guys are my fellow fans whether I agree with them or not, but that's where the "hate on Cam = racist" stuff comes in... Not saying that I'm suggesting that, but a lot has been said that doesn't pertain to football, and for people to get so emotional about a guy they don't know and attack fellow fans over it suggests there are some deeper seeded issues outside of football. To see a lot of these guys come completely out of their usual character is what suggests there are some bigger problems going on.

And I don't agree with having a "100 hugger" threads, tbh, I don't even open half of them anymore. The thing that is annoying is that it has turned half of the huddle into trolls and each half is convinced the other half are the trolls. It's sad. And the thing is, generally, when I've recognized that someone isn't in favor of drafting him and they make 2 or 3 threads in one day about him, I usually don't go in those either because it's baiting, as TRD did today. But, I'm tired of it man... And as soon as someone goes in one of those threads and says something positive about Cam they get attacked - the "slurp", then "your gay?" sh*t in this thread - so that they'll leave or shut up and a "hater" can put another notch in his internet belt.

Yet, even months back, when I would go into a pro-Cam thread, the same 4 or 5 guys were trolling it like crazy and saying stuff with the specific purpose of starting sh*t. It wasn't about football...

I'm just ready for the draft to be over, this sh*t is like a f*cking civil war here... I've been here since the beginning and I've never seen anything like this.

Short answer for the off the field poo: Ryan Leaf, Jamarcus Russel, Vince Young, Mike Vick, Kerry Collins.

Yes, I am getting sick of the civil war as well, most of the people who post regarding Newton/Whatever prospect they desperately want they are straight line thinkers thus not taking any other arguments and their only defense is bashing.

Ugh, ignorance man, straight up ignorance.

Also on the whole Cam Newton thing, I personally was a qb, and on other teams a te, the way Cam acts, the things he has done, if anyone on the teams I have been on would have acted or done any of those things he has done (yes it is in his past, it doesn't matter) they would never be voted captain. You just don't grasp to a guy who is even mildly self absorbed or he comes off as such. Among the other things have done.

You have a guy who won't be a leader and you end up with a mobile Jimmy Clausen.

It didn't have a name on it, but if you feel guilty...

You're good man, it was pretty much for TURD and Icegey.

Don't take it to heart mang. It was more of a "All of you love men" thing :P Hence the "somebody" as opposed to just one or the other.

Good strategy... Cam Haters unite against the one guy in the thread defending the pick if it's made to insinuate he's less of a man so he'll shut up and let them hate freely.

I'm not gonna drop low enough so one of you can get me on an infraction because you're such big internet tough guys. Your hate for a person you don't even know speaks for itself. PATHETIC.

You want to talk about hate? Then you talk about gays being "less of a man" so who is really full of hate my man?

You couldn't take a joke and now your true colors are showing.

You hate gheys and think that gay men aren't real men. You need to look in the mirror and answer some questions yourself.

I've heard recently that the Bills don't want him, they want D in the first and QB in the second.

Andre Reed tweeted to Christian Ponder that he was "looking forward to calling him name" when he announced the Bills second round pick, but then he took it down.

I've never said I hate Blaine Gabbert or any other player in this draft. Why would I hate any of these players and take it upon myself to talk about a lot of stuff that I have no first-hand knowledge of? Whoever we pick, I want to succeed, do I think any one of these players will succeed? No...

That's pretty much how a lot of us who don't want Newton feel, but it doesn't stop the dumb "you just hate him" accusations from flowing freely.

I insulted your argument, not you (and even pulled that back because I thought it sounded too harsh).

There are people on here who I believe are perfectly intelligent, but if they make a stupid statement I'll generally say it's a dumb statement and explain why I think so. For example, Mav's as smart a guy as anyone on here, but if he said something like "they should draft whoever sells the most tickets" I'd tell him that was a pretty silly idea.

Saying, "that's wrong", "you're wrong", "that's ignorant", "that sounds dumb", "that's a stupid thing to say", "you're being silly", "you don't know what you're talking about", "that doesn't show much football knowledge"", "you're making yourself look bad" or anything like that is a comment on the debate itself or the ideas expressed therein.

However, stating "you're full of hate/fear/racism/racial bias", "you just have ulterior motives", "your thinking is racist or influenced by racist attitudes" or something like "you're stupid" or anything of that sort is a personal attack on someone's character. You'll not hear me say something like that unless someone has a long history of posting really stupid things, and only a very few on here have been consistently dumb enough to fall into that category.

You want to really win a debate? Defeat the ideas. Attacking the person is the lazy way to go. We all are guilty of it sometimes, but for some it's their default tactic.

Stuff like this is a big reason why the arguments have descended into the toilet this year.

Awesome.

I look in the mirror everyday, I have no questions, and don't need advice on when I need to ask them if I ever do.

And your joke, wasn't made clear to be a joke, so of course I'm gonna get a little serious about it in return.

And all these conclusions you're making, you might wanna read a little bit closer for comprehension next time because you seem to be having a hard time understanding the things being typed.

As far as your "who is full of hate" and me talking about gays being lesser men... A lot of your answers will be found in that same tinderbox thread your quote came from. I don't want to turn this into a tinderbox issue, in fact, I'll bump that thread with an explanation of my stance...

And where did I say gay men aren't real and that I hate gays? I don't hate anyone, but I don't care for their lifestyle and I don't agree with it, simple as that. But, if further explanation is needed, I will post it in that tinderbox thread because I don't want to perpetuate your habit of taking football threads and derailing them... Hey what a coincidence, this thread was about Cam!

Just think, Vick had to kill dogs, Vince had to cuss out his coach, JaMarcus had to sip syrup and be lazy. What did Cam do to garner this instinctive hate? Win a Heisman, a national title, and overwhelmingly outshine Andrew Luck. And these dudes already hate and are ready to pile on this student athlete and tell us what a "thug" he is. Alabama fans can embrace him, but snotty people from NC & SC are too good too. Says a lot to me and other Panther fans. Even Vick & Vince didnt get this kind of hate coming into the league. Its a big reason why I think Cam has the chance to be even bigger than those 2.
