Patrick Peterson is having a late surge

My idea is this. You take best pick available, either Green/Peterson (I wouldn't take DT No.1 cause this draft seems pretty stacked at DT), because there is not a QB in this class that (IMO) is a franchise guy. So, take a sure thing, sign a vet (ik there are few, and no free agency until the CBA is resolved), and take your franchise QB in next years draft.

Thus, your almost guranteed a sure fire starter from this draft and a franchise QB in next year's draft instead of a possible bust at QB this draft and drafting another QB next year.

Either way, the panthers will be still drafting a franchise QB one year and a solid starter the next year regardless, because a rookie qb this year is not making this team good enough to get out of the top ten for next year.

So why not draft BPA this year and QB next, and presumably get two sure things rather than taking a huge risk on over inflated QB prospects this year? idk, maybe I'm just pre-draft over analyzed and fried.

I find it funny that the same people who have convinced themselves that Cam is not limited by the offense he can play in are the same ones saying that PP7 is limited to a man-to-man scheme and/or will be a safety. Lemme just put it this way.. If we draft him (either Cam or PP7), then we have plans for him already made.

it was what I would do, not what I think is going to happen. I already prepared myself weeks ago that we were going to reach for a qb at No. 1

Same here. Cam or Gabbert. Neither can come in and start day 1 like Flacco, Ryan, or Bradford. I think that's one thing that a #1 overall qb must possess. However, it's completely possible with the need at the position and considering we're the only team in our division without a franchise qb, that we would not give a rat's ass about whether we're reaching or not. Oh well. If we draft either of them, it won't be a wasted pick; I just would have preferred someone else.

I agree. Just a sh*t year to have the No. 1 pick.
