Jerry Rice: Accuracy, not race, the issue with Cam Newton

He said he thought the questions about Cam were not race related, but related to his accuracy. He said Cam had accuracy issues. He didn't say racism didn't exist.

I think his point was that Cam was inaccurate, not that Warren Moon was wrong.

when did i say rice said it didnt exist. I said some of you huddlers think it doesnt play a part. Warren Moon said all the work ethic and mental questions had something to do with racism.

institutionalized slavery has been around for far too long and it predates just about every modern culture. debating "who had it worse" or who "took it the furthest" is fuging stupid. maybe I'm being ethnocentric but all slavery is wrong, fug it all, and it's terrible it still exists in our time. let's avoid trying to compare and contract different slavery and genocides, please? they were ALL terrible.

You are incorrectly assuming hitches are streaks

I really don't think you know what a hitch or a streak is. Please tell me what a hitch is and what a streak is because the way you use those terms is completely wrong.

You do realize that Cam didn't throw that pass, he caught it. In that highlight film that pass was probably the best thrown ball and it wasn't even thrown by Cam Newton........

He really didn't know that Cam Newton caught the ball and you can tell by his post. He says no one else could make a play on it but "his man" referring to Cam's receiver. He is so bad at watching football he doesn't know that the player he loves was actually the WR. Does anyone trust his judgment on anything now?

so are you saying we should draft Kodi Burns to throw touchdown passes to Cam Newton?

The way TRD plays it out, most the catches in the reel are receiver adjustments. This is false.

No, this is true, they did have to make adjustments because Cam did not put the ball in a place to let them catch it in stride.

You simply have a lower expectation of accurate. You think if it's complete it's accurate and maybe in pop warner that works but not with the big boys. His accuracy is not very good and the "HIGHLIGHT" tape shows it.

And all utterly irrelevant to who gets picked number one in the NFL Draft :frown2:

Anyone who didn't know the direction this thread would take and claims ignorance is just plain ignorant.

There are many on here that simply cannot navigate an intelligent discussion on race. Blanket statements are made on either side and progress in the conversation is nill.

I think when comparing two great horrendous events in the world's history like Slavery and the Holocaust one should go to lengths not to trivialize either. Shame we've gone from one shameful pissing contest to another.

Speaking of which, I'm watching the SportsCenter: On The Clock special right now, here's a run down.

Suzy Kolber asked what the Top 5 should do, not what they will do.

Kiper - Carolina should take AJ Green, because he offers excitement, and another weapon for Clausen to throw to.

McShay - Carolina should take Dareus, because of the glaring need at DT that's been there for a while.

Wiley - Carolina should take Nick Fairley, because it took Dareus two years to do what Nick Fairley did in one. (whatever that means)

You seriously think a discussion of slavery vs the holocaust was predictable?

Racial discussion? Sure. But that?
