Jerry Rice: Accuracy, not race, the issue with Cam Newton

I could start a rumor about anyone using cocaine. Until there's something to support it, it's meaningless.

Rumors are not on the level of objective facts.

yea but at the same time you have to have to be a little suspicious how many guys have cocaine rumors just pop up out of nowhere? I'm not sure if I believe it but Im not going to doubt it 100%.

how is that so JOAT. Considering things such as slave trade, slavery, and jim crow laws man get real.(yes i know american whites were not the only group invloved in the slave trade)

germans did there wrong as well, but things such as lynchings and bombing churches ,(enslavement) for 100 plus years is ranked up there as well. by white americans

Understood that all that stuff is bad, but objectively i think we've got a loooong way to go before we're anywhere close to the level of what the Nazis did (and technically it was the Nazis; blaming Germans is too broad). Organized, attempted genocide is waaaaaaay out there.

Dan Marino had a rumor out that he used drugs when he was drafted. Rumors are used by teams to help them get players too.

What forums are you reading?

Just this one.

Monszta's point was that a mere rumor was equal or greater than an actual arrest record. Can't buy into that at all.

That said, I don't want Mallett either, and it's for reasons other than the rumors (and started long before the recent incident).

Rumors are the kind of thing you make a mental note of, but until there's corroboration of some kind, you can't let them factor into an evaluation.

A few things.

5. Lets stop on this one. The ball was put in the corner of end zone. Where no one else could make a play on it but his man. Lets give some credit here… hallmark pro-like pass.

You do realize that Cam didn't throw that pass, he caught it. In that highlight film that pass was probably the best thrown ball and it wasn't even thrown by Cam Newton........

Just for shits and giggles...

In American Holocaust (1992), David Stannard estimates that some 30 to 60 million Africans died being enslaved. He claims a 50% mortality rate among new slaves while being gathered and stored in Africa, a 10% mortality among the survivors while crossing the ocean, and another 50% mortality rate in the first "seasoning" phase of slave labor. Overall, he estimates a 75-80% mortality rate in transit.

I'm not exactly the world's biggest Planned Parenthood fan

But yeah, this discussion is getting a little out there. Back to football.

last post on this matter, i just dont see how. the whole slave thing ranks up there with the holocost movement. both were absolutley wrong.

Can we move this non-football poo to the Tinderbox?

It's seriously starting to get ridiculous.

its related because evidently theres a race issue when dealing with Cam Newton. Some feel racism is part of the criticism and some dont. Do you want a Cam thread in the tinderbox?
