It's not THAT hard to correct. It's not like he needs change his throwing motion(Clausen, The Golden Calf of Bristol) and he also needs to practice under center which he has been doing.

You don't draft on need alone. You draft the best pick that fits a need. Peterson, Von Miller, Dareus, Green are all way above the quarterbacks in this draft in my opinion. I would put the quarterbacks in the second tier of draft prospects personally.

DT is nearly as big a need as QB... because we have youth at quarterback that could develop. DT? Not so much. Desperately need a starter there and only have average play at the other DT position, and we don't exactly have youth that the FO feels comfortable can develop into a decent starter. Aas much as most of us hate to admit it, they do feel Clausen and Moore can be good starters in this league... And nobody but a guy with a stats website that says he'll be great has any idea about Pike.

Youth =/= Talent.

Clausen showed he doesn't have a touch on the ball. His release is too low. He can't hang in the pocket or step up consistently. He has some serious accuracy issues. He just doesn't have pro speed to make his reads or make a play. Pike is a career backup in the making. Moore... well... he's already a career backup.

QB is the BIGGEST NEED. Hurney has said it. Rivera has said it. DT is NOT as big a need. QB affects the offense more than any other position. Our offense was the worst in the league.

And you people say Newton is a crappy QB. PROVE IT. Show me he is. And one not-so-great game (which they still won) isn't proof.

As for all the other Potential QB's to trade for, they are already on the downswing career wise and would cost at least a first for the likes of Palmer.

As for McNabb or Garrard it would take at least a second rounder or two to get those done.... which Carolina Doesn't have... Also don't know anything about when the CBA mess is going to get fixed...

I'll take the word of a guy like Warren Moon who's actually played QB in the NFL and lived thru the experience vs. a guy like Jerry Rice who never played with one in the NFL. Respect his opinion, but he's in a dream world if he doesnt think the identity of a QB doesnt play into his perception. The QB position is basically the tool the NFL uses to market the game to certain fans. Change that dynamic, and the NFL is basically the NBA.

Comparing him to The Golden Calf of Bristol will fall under hate/not actually watching him play last season. Like I said I feel he's more advanced throwing the ball at this stage than a The Golden Calf of Bristol due to him not having to tweak his throwing motion. That's the main reason why I don't agree with that comparison.

As far as the Gabbert character concerns stuff to hear some tell it he's squeaky clean prospect. That drunken bar fight is rarely talked about by the media yet Cam's issues from 3 years ago are...

How did I know I would have to explain this to you? What I meant was how many times have you heard about Blaines incident in popular magazines and national television? 0. Newton wasnt charged with no damn intimidating a witness you got that from the Nacrockski article I looked for it and couldnt find that information anywhere esle. It was reported he was arrested for it. Don't know if they actually charged him for it.

I can't take Clausen anymore and IMO JR isn't going to tolerate Clausen and Moore as his QBs. So he is either going to give the go-ahead to take Newton and start to build around him or he is going to bring in a veteran after this labor crap gets resolved. If we go the Newton route then we have obviously seen enough to make him our franchise guy. If that's the case then I trust Hurney and Rivera to BUILD AROUND HIM and not make him adapt to us.

I don't think that Cam Newton is smart enough or crafty enough to completely con an entire group of GMs and scouts. If he's the real deal then we take him. If not then I think they would know by now.

This isn't Jamarcus Russell where he has a weight problem and an obvious attitude problem as well. Jerry Richardson also isn't Al Davis where he is going to draft a guy based on physical tools alone...

He also isn't Alex Smith where he has the "want to" but doesn't have the physical tools to back it up.

While there might not be as much racism in football today, none of us can say there definitely isn't. However, there is a level of discrimination in football, how else can you explain why ever black QB is compared to McNabb,Vick, Russell, Cunningham and every white WR is compared to Wes Welker & Wayne Chrebet.
