To Mr. Scot and those who share his view.

I want to flip the script on you to see what your true opinion is.

Here is the scenario: Panthers have the number one pick. You all seem to be in agreement that Luck would be worth the #1 pick. Here is the twist. Luck is not the BPA. There is a better ranked DT, WR, and CB. Who do you draft and why.

Analyst are split saying we should take Luck #1 while others say we should take a different prospect. Everything about the Panthers and the NFL exist as it does this very minute. Also Cam Newton does not exist in this scenario so do not even bring his name up in this thread please.

@ the initial post: Luck didn't go from being a late 2nd-3rd round pick to being the supposed top QB in the draft in a span of 2 months

I'm not against Newton, but this is a flawed scenario set-up to prove a point :)

Like I said if you have a better way to present it or better scenario I am all ears.

Nobody is "hating on" Newton. They just don't think he's the best pick. And given that the majority of those on the board do want Newton, how do you figure they have "less right" or "have to defend themselves"?

"Nobody" you cannot be serious. If I have to I will go through threads and re-post things that are nothing but pure ignorant hate. Also I should have worded less right, to something more fitting. Just couldn't come up with something off the top of my head. Almost every thread turns into people saying why they would pick Newton #1 while people bash their opinion with stuff like, How do you want to draft someone who is a lying, cheating, thief. It is a never ending cycle.

Is it possible in your eyes that there are people that prefer Luck over Newton strictly based on football reasons?

Oh of course what makes you think otherwise? There are also people who want Newton over luck for football reasons. It is all just an opinion.

who had Newton as a 3rd round pick after the completion of this last year of football? I'd like to see a mock w/ that.

Feel free. But while you're at it, lemme give you a challenge.

Take a moment to also look up the posts where someone has made a perfectly valid statement only to be accused of hate or racism or some other personal motive.

My guess, you'll find as many or more of those than you will of the first.

I will completely agree with that. My point is the back and forth hate is stupid. I hope you agree with me.

It was when Andrew Luck was still in play a few months back

He was going anywhere from a 2nd rounder to a 3rd. I remember seeing this but I'll have to do a search...

The fact that you asked a question with an answer that you couldn't accept when it was deviant from what you expected.

When Mr. Scott stated his response plainly, you insisted that he hadn't answered your question. The simple truth is that he answered it as a person that thinks in football terms and you refused to accept his answer on its own merits. Rather, you insinuated your own narrative involving more nefarious motivations regarding Cam Newton's value as a draft pick rather than accepting Mr Scott's own words for what he thinks. He has been very direct, insightful, and plain-spoken on the matter for months now. Why is it so hard to take him at his word?

. I tried to flip it so for once the haters would have to put up a defense as to why luck is the better pick that is all.

Luck is the better prospect because he is more accurate, better feet, pocket awareness, further ahead on reads, an unquestioned work ethic and a squeaky clean past.

As recently as November he wasn't a projected 1st rounder. After the season mocks have always had him as a first rounder, but certainly not a top 5 or often even top 10 immediately afterwards.

Having 6 offensive players leave that have the ability to get drafted and another 4 or 5 graduating is a lot. Regardless of where they get drafted at, the fact that one is the Center and the other is the LT (one of the Guards is also graduating) ... Thats big, especially when the Center is as good as Chase Beeler is. Also Owen Marecic is a big loss for Stanford as well.

I got an honest question for you not criticizing. Why is Chase Beeler projected to go undrafted when he was an all-american? Center is the probably the second most important position on the line so it doesn't make sense. I will agree with you on him and Marecic (FB), but I think the other lineman can be replaced.
