No way to know that for sure.......Clausen was suppose to be able to function before The Golden Calf of Bristol. Opposite was the reality though.

I think Cam's ceiling is just as high as anyone that has come out in recent years.

I'd take Luck if he is head and shoulders above every other QB prospect in the draft.. and we don't have a franchise QB. If we think he could be out guy, we take him. Luck has the production, the smarts, and the clean background check. Cam Newton just has the production.

BPA doesn't always mean that they will be a great pick....especially at #1. As far as the scenario goes, I pick Luck. He is more polished and proven than Cam, so the risk isn't as high.

Because ESPN told them. Luck is an idea, nothing more. Why wont these guys say he's better than Sam Bradford or Stafford? Luck was simply an alternative for people who didnt like Cam Newton. His rise in the media and on this board was directly after the Cam Newton pay for play scandal and the media reports that Newton would come out in the draft. Never heard of or seen anyone mention this guy's name last year on this board. Now we have to watch all these people act like they never were ga ga over him next season when some other pocket passer steps up to be the "absolute". Luck will serve no purpose here once Cam is drafted. Bank it!

Nope. We spent 3 months on this board trashing Cam Newton and the past 4-5 years trashing QBs like him. Its created a backlash of sorts. If we had only brought balance and showed some semblance of restraint on the character attacks and paranoia, I dont think it would be like this. We were too good for all of that though.

If Luck had of come out....the tune would have changed.

An issue would have been made about coming out as a sophomore....and the results of those who have done that.

It would be brought up that Luck pretty much has 1 season defining his resume as a draft pick.

He and everyone he knows would have been picked at....and they would find out that he called his own play once, punched a kid at a frat party once, or something.....

Luck since he never entered.....is talked about as something he simply isn't.

I'm sure this has been addressed, but I'll chime in as well:

A. In all my year's of watching the draft, I've never seen another prospect like Luck, so it's hard to envision that kind of scenario when a prospect like that hasn't come along in ages.

This is what's wrong with the Cam lovers when it comes to this argument.

They view Luck and Newton on equal plains and the two just aren't, which leads me to my second point..

B. Luck is miles ahead of Newton. You guys are right. WE DO NEED A QB. The problem is that after Luck left, there was nobody of that caliber left at the position. Luck was a risk we could afford to take because his chance of success, was MUCH, MUCH higher than Cam's. Just because we want a QB, doesn't mean we should force anybody we can at the position and hope for the best...that could set us back years...

Luck doesn't have the character concerns that either Cam or Mallet have, so, it would make the decision a tad bit easier.

I am a loyal Panthers Fan and I sure do not want a guy like Cam being

the Face of Our Franchise. He is a thief,liar and a cheat.

There are better players available to us we would be stupid tp pass over

decent guys who will give us more on the field then Cam.
