Where would you draft them?

Based on both the fact they'd be coming to play for us, which of the following QBs would you take #1 overall if they were coming out now?

Feel free to use what they have done in their NFL careers to date to help you decide, but keep in mind they wouldn't be getting drafted by whatever team did draft them, but by us.

1) Big Ben

2) Freeman

3) Matt Ryan

4) Joe Flacco

5) Stafford

6) Mark Sanchez

7) Vince Young

8) Alex Smith

edit: Feel free to say where you WOULD draft them if not #1 too, if you wish to.

Matt Ryan

The situation he came into in ATL was very similar to what we have now, so his transition should be just as smooth. Also, I think Rivera would have taken the reins off him a lot quicker than Smith, they still don't let him air it out all that much. And, for the icing on the cake, if we draft him, then ATL can't have him. :p

Yes I think so, he was a talent, and showed it even through some bad times in the rookie year. Heck, Clausen has shown bits of promise, but all the bad has clouded some eyes about him.

Hurney actually went on the radio and listed off a bunch of times Clausen showed promise. It sounded kind of like Cyberjag had taken over our GM's body, but hey.

This is an interesting way to get a look at what expectations people have for a #1 QB.

Now this is the reason to take Ryan, IMO. :D

I wasn't exactly asking for you guys to rate them, I was asking for which of em you'd draft #1 or at least where you'd draft them. Though hey, anything works :)

edit:

I'll be honest, I was expecting more people to put Big Ben at the top of that list as going #1 overall.

I'd take Ryan #1 overall and tbh, that might be it. Would seriously look at Big Ben too, but I think it's too early on Freeman. Maybe not though!

Its hard to say who I would take number 1 considering most of them are early in there careers and without knowing who else is on the draft board with them. Its all fairly circumstantial.

Also how did you come to that list? That is an interesting assortment of quarterbacks.

    • Hornets actually have good young talent, but they just can't play good team ball.   Lee doesn't look like a good hire at HC so far.
    • Apparently it did no good. Getting spanked by the Wizards…again!
    • I'd be looking at mid to late round QBs every single draft simply because the potential ROI is so high. Hell, even if I have an entrenched starter and backup that wouldn't change the equation. Hit on one and I'd trade my entrenched backup to a desperate team and now I have a quality backup in a rookie contract to protect cap space and a potential asset to trade down the road or hell even develop into a starter if my starter is aging or has a career detailing injury or maybe the young guy simply proves to be better at some point. Once you get the the 4th or 5th round you're basically throwing darts at the board hoping to hit on something at that point. Most of those guys will prove to not be long for the league anyway.  I'm not saying reach on a guy just because he's a QB but if I have similarly rated prospects on the board and we're talking about a FB, a blocking TE, and a  OG with limited upside, well that's a no brainer to me. Roll the dice on the QB.
