QB Camp: Gabbert

Right. I think as fans, we would like Gabbert alot and expect alot, but be frustrated with him because he never accomplishes anything, but still like him even when we never accomplish anything because how can you not?

I believe Gabbert can accomplish a lot in this league, because I personally think he has the physical gifts, he works hard, and he certainly has the mental aspect of the game down.

Yeah I agree, sometimes I wish he would just talk about the more important stuff. Surely there's more important stuff with Gabbert than how fast he hands the ball off. I want to know about his pocket presence etc. Where the other guys open? What was he asked to do? This episode wasn't all that informative. He doesn't look THAT nervous to me tbh, nor do I think he's all that pissed. He's just acknowledging his own weaknesses (which isn't always easy). It was a split second thing and he moved on (not that I'm some psych expert). I mean, compare him to Colt McCoy last year, now that guy was nervous.

I think teams like to focus on film and the production they see from that, while scouts project a player based on skill-set and how the throws he made whether complete or not translate into the nfl; hence why gabbert is higher with people like mcshay/mayock, but newton is the one teams seem to be eyeing due to his on the field production and dynamic play making ability. teams might have a harder time seeing greatness in someone when it isn't showing up on the field...at least that's what I think is happening.

Newton is not the only QB in this draft that can escape a pocket and run. Hell, Mallett is the only one of the top prospects that can't.

Mallett couldn't escape Jon Gruden rushing him.

I get that you're joking, but given some of the complaints that folks (you included) have made regarding things said about Newton, do you really wanna go that route?

Think about it for a minute. How would you feel reading a comment like that about Newton?
