QB Camp: Gabbert

But why couldn't he produce? I mean I would feel a lot better with him if he just produced at a high level.

16 TD's in a pass oriented offense to me is just crazy to me.

They scored more TDs on the ground, as a percentage of their total, than Auburn did. They utilized Gabbert's legs as well as the fact the defenses had to spread out to cover all the receivers to score on the ground inside the 20s.

His production still wasn't anything great, but IMO the TDs thing is overblown a bit.

Watching this, I'd almost feel more comfortable having him as an offensive coordinator than a quarterback.

No questions whatsoever about his mental game, but at least in this format, he doesn't come across as a guy who could come in and take charge of a huddle.

Maybe he's different in game situations.

Is it me or was this throwing segment more complicated than the others? Maybe I just am not remembering the others well.

I thought it was certainly more in depth. Of course we don't know what hit the cutting room floor, but I did feel like the throws that Gruden asked of Blaine were a little more advanced....

By all accounts of people who have played with him, practiced with him, etc... He takes control of a huddle. There's a story from a bit ago about the receiver he threw to on his pro day, who knew for like 4 days before his Pro day.

BTW, for Blackcatgrowl:

Gruden: "Footwork is excellent..."

Looked nice passing. Perfect placement on the deep ball.

No real questions about his brain or his arm. I'll assume his demeanor is different when he's with teammates or in a game, but just watching him here it's hard to see him as the kind of guy who can lead a pro team.

You do have to ask a little, if he's nervous just gabbing with Gruden, what happens when a bunch of older professional athletes are looking at him and expecting him to take charge?
