An interesting item (regarding Julio Jones)

Found in the story about Ryan Mallett's agent defending him (link)

Adam Schefter of ESPN quotes agent J.R. Carroll as saying that on the night in question, April 8, Mallett had dinner in Charlotte with Alabama wide receiver Julio Jones, and that Mallett headed back to his hotel room when he didn’t feel well.

Anyone wanna stick their tinfoil hats on and ask why Julio Jones was in Charlotte?

(might not be anything meaningful, but it does raise an eyebrow)

Maybe mallett needed someone to throw to when he visited the Panthers?

Maybe Jones spiked malletts gatorade?

no tinfoil hat here, but...

my wife works for one of the larger hotels downtown and said that reps from several teams (Was, Den, etc.) have been in town over the past several weeks. do some teams travel to other parts of the country to view/workout players instead of having the player come to them?

Alabama's pro day was a while back and on their campus, as I recall. I remember because we were paying attention due to Dareus.

Teams do travel to interview prospects, but why travel to Charlotte to interview an Alabama kid?

The question of why Jones would be here is one of those things that make you go "hmmmm" :sosp:

had thought about that too... although from the sounds of it, these have been semi-extended stays. that many schools around here with pro days worth going to?

How far away are UNC/Duke/NCSU from Charlotte, or SC/Clemson for that matter? Depending on if those schools all had their pro days around each other, the teams could've just used Charlotte as a central area.
