I showed you, what some consider, to be the most knowledgeable draft guru's around. But hey I guess that's no one. Admit you are wrong and move on.

Some even went to great legnths to support Nolan's view on Cam. Guess he can be wrong too. lol

I still don't think I'm wrong. I think only a few people had Clausen top 10 while most saw him for what he was. Just because I'm not googling everyone's mock doesn't mean I'm wrong.

It's not the main point I'm making so it doesn't matter to me.

Why would I want to draft a guy who would rather be an architect than a NFL QB.

You mean someone that shows commitment to the educational institution that gave him a free education? A commitment to his teammates and his coaches that are left there? A commitment to his family to follow through with what he has started there? A desire to better himself at one of the best universities in the country?

You're that butthurt that you can't recognize his abilities on a football field?

I didn't expect that immaturity from a Mod. I didn't have you pegged as a Cam guy but I guess I haven't paid enough attention.

I mean he turned down being our QB, the #1 pick, and a millionaire many times over to shine up his CAD drawings. I'd say that says something. When did I say he sucked as a QB? Never did. You're acting like a scorned lover...

Oh and immaturity is not admitting you are wrong even when proven so repeatedly.

And linked to a mock draft from last March in the process :sosp:

(pretty sure PFW's always had Newton going in the top ten)

He turned down the whole NFL. He's a kid that enjoys going to school and enjoys expanding his knowledge base.

He's a smart kid. He knows that many people that come out with less than 3 years exp struggle in their NFL careers and he improved dramatically from year 1 to year 2 so why not continue to improve while you can. He's thinking long term not just for the quick buck. If anything he was doing us a favor.

He knows he could have made $50mil one time but likely struggle based on history and not see that kind of money in a second contract. Why not become the best you can be, make $25mil your first contract, then once you light it up because you made the right decision earlier, you make $70-100 mil on your second contract, and have possibly another large 3rd contract?

He absolutely made the right choice and it had nothing to do with Carolina.

aside from this particular discussion (which I'm not involved in, nor care to become involved in), I fail to see how Luck going back to school is relevant at all. lol

Just the same as those who want to act like Cam Newton stole a laptop and sold it to someone...

He passed up Millions to go back to school to get a degree which wont matter. You know, He could have got that same degree after his NFL career was over. Imo, He went back to school for the same reasons any 21 year old would. Parties, your friends, Hot college girls, you get my point. I am sure it helps also when you have a wealthy family and are the star QB for your school. Luck is like a god at Standford I bet.

The main thing Luck staying in school says to me is he loves being big man on campus at a great school and isn't worried about money, which makes sense since he's already rich. It also tells me he's confident he will stay the top QB in the country, just like Bradford, and isn't afraid of getting hurt--and why wouldnt he, since he seems to just run over every Pac-10 defender he encounters and just adds to his legend.

It seems like you are doing a lot of thinking for him.

If our coaching staff believe they can solve our quarterback issue with Newton and that he can execute this offense, which if you watch Philip Rivers you know he probably has to make the most difficult throws in the NFL on a consistent basis, then they should absolutely draft him. I don't care about the outside stuff, i just question Newton's ability to make NFL reads and decipher NFL defenses. I don't have that question with Luck..but that dude isn't available, so I'll support whomever we pick.

Even thought I think Panthro is a 3rd world Dictator when it comes to this MB(you know what I'm talking about). He makes some very good points. TRD "really dude" is it that hard to admit when your are soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo wrong??? Do you talk in the thrid person alot around your friends???

Anyway back too the topic I can't agree with anybody who feels it's a good idea too plan on getting Luck next year. When he chose to stay in school he became a after thought in my book. Their is no way in hell Ron R. is starting his HC life with a #1 pick worthy season if he can help it.

Better yet how many times has a team had back to back #1 picks in any sport?

    • I just switched to prime video with fanduel south. Will I be able to watch the Canes playoff games still?
    • I mean, you can use that "logic," but the problem is that most practice squad players, backups or average guys don't put the play on film that Wharton did when given their opportunities.  Perhaps you'll end up right, but I don't think that just because a guy has been in a rotation makes him inherently less productive because he gets more snaps. I will say that the KC fans I've seen on social media loved him, and considered him their second best DT,  regardless of his "rotational" status, and generally considered him a dawg, so I'm going to give him the benefit of doubt until he shows otherwise.
    • Did I miss something?  The people we have developing players now are not the ones we've had in the past so I don't know what the heck people are talking about when they say we are not good at developing players right now.  We only have one year to go on.  Canales likes young players or players who are on an upward trajectory, especially in FA this year.  Past QB's and what he's done with Bryce are good examples. Tershawn Wharton - 26 Tre'von Moehrig - 25 Pat Jones II - 26 Bobby Brown III - 24 Michael Jackson - 28 Jaycee Horn - 25 Tommy Tremble - 24 We missed on Milton Williams but he's 26. Everyone else we picked up are on 1 year deals.  The Panthers new front office and Canales absolutely scream developmental team. Pick 8 (stay) Tier 1 Elite - Abdul Carter, Travis Hunter and Mason Graham Tier 2 Elite - Jalon Walker, Mykel Williams, Will Johnson Trade down: There are quite a few really good players that fit us at Edge, DT, S and WR mid to late 1st and high 2nd.  Some combos that would be possible that I really like.  Imagine getting 2 of these guys by trading down. Stark, Pierce Jr, Golden, Scourton, Grant, Emmanwori, Ezeiruaku, Umanmielen, Deone Walker, Harmon and this is just off the top of my head.
