Oh poo....Mayock

http://www.cleveland.com/browns/index.ssf/2010/04/nfl_networks_mayock_if_browns.html

NFL Network draft expert Mike Mayock thinks the Browns should take Notre Dame quarterback Jimmy Clausen at No. 7 if they're sold on his character.

"I do think he has the physical skill-set to be a top 10 pick the draft, similar to [Jets rookie] Mark Sanchez," Mayock said on a conference call Wednesday. "The question is what kind of kid is he? If you buy into him, work ethic, toughness and leadership, there's no reason not to take him. He's every bit as talented as Sanchez."

Wrong. Very few people thought Clausen was a top 10 pick.

Clausen didn't have near the tools that Luck has, neither does Cam.

To think that those two have even remotely the same chances of success in the NFL is silly

Do you want more or will you admit you are wrong?

What if we play well? That means we may have a option at QB already. What's wrong with getting a FA QB?

If the coaches feel comfortable with the QB's on the roster and we do not draft a QB then I will be hoping we do well. I already posted before what I thought about a FA QB.

Sorry he was only rated the Number 2 Qb in the 2010 class behind Bradford.

Once again that is your opinion. Based on your opinion I am silly. Oh well that does not bother me.

Keep going, that's only two.

There is about 47 teams that thought he wasn't worth it, which equals roughly 200 people at the minimum. Then start adding in all the analysts and so on and it's really a few uninformed people that thought he was worth a top 10 pick and it turns out 1 had him up there only because he was making money off of it. Who knows how many of these independent sites were swayed by Kiper.

Edit:

Mayock said he's not worth it, so he doesn't count.

Considering we were trying like hell to trade up for him (at the 33rd spot) and failing I wouldn't go that far.

Good to see you can't admit when you are wrong. Show me proof you are right....you can't.

At least people posted support. Show me all the analyst you speak of that didn't have Jimmy rated as a top QB prospect.

Sure I can prove I am right by you only showing that so far 3-4 people had him in their top 10 when at least 11 didn't have him in their top ten, I would say that's very few. Would you not?

Now I could go find everyone that said he wasn't going to be top 10 but what's the point of that? I may have exaggerated but this dude was trying to draw a comparison of Clausen to someone who was considered by 99% of people that matter as the #1 pick.

My point was to disprove the comparison. I may have exaggerated but the point stands.

It's a waste of time, you get the point, Jimmy and Luck aren't even close to similar.

Luck is in a league of his own when it comes to QBs in the last 10-12 years

I showed you, what some consider, to be the most knowledgeable draft guru's around. But hey I guess that's no one. Admit you are wrong and move on.

Some even went to great legnths to support Nolan's view on Cam. Guess he can be wrong too. lol

    • I just switched to prime video with fanduel south. Will I be able to watch the Canes playoff games still?
    • I mean, you can use that "logic," but the problem is that most practice squad players, backups or average guys don't put the play on film that Wharton did when given their opportunities.  Perhaps you'll end up right, but I don't think that just because a guy has been in a rotation makes him inherently less productive because he gets more snaps. I will say that the KC fans I've seen on social media loved him, and considered him their second best DT,  regardless of his "rotational" status, and generally considered him a dawg, so I'm going to give him the benefit of doubt until he shows otherwise.
    • Did I miss something?  The people we have developing players now are not the ones we've had in the past so I don't know what the heck people are talking about when they say we are not good at developing players right now.  We only have one year to go on.  Canales likes young players or players who are on an upward trajectory, especially in FA this year.  Past QB's and what he's done with Bryce are good examples. Tershawn Wharton - 26 Tre'von Moehrig - 25 Pat Jones II - 26 Bobby Brown III - 24 Michael Jackson - 28 Jaycee Horn - 25 Tommy Tremble - 24 We missed on Milton Williams but he's 26. Everyone else we picked up are on 1 year deals.  The Panthers new front office and Canales absolutely scream developmental team. Pick 8 (stay) Tier 1 Elite - Abdul Carter, Travis Hunter and Mason Graham Tier 2 Elite - Jalon Walker, Mykel Williams, Will Johnson Trade down: There are quite a few really good players that fit us at Edge, DT, S and WR mid to late 1st and high 2nd.  Some combos that would be possible that I really like.  Imagine getting 2 of these guys by trading down. Stark, Pierce Jr, Golden, Scourton, Grant, Emmanwori, Ezeiruaku, Umanmielen, Deone Walker, Harmon and this is just off the top of my head.
