1. We won't have the 1st pick again next year...

2. Luck coming out next year is FAR from a guarantee...

3. Right now we don't know what next year's QB class will look like, despite everyone who wants to label it the best of all time a year in advance...

Basically: Luck won't ever be a Panther. I wanted him to, but it's not happening. Get over it, folks.

I have seen realists such as myself suggest that if we do take a QB this year and he doesn't pan out asking what the backup plan is... That'd be 3 first pick QBs in as many years, and we'd continue to be the laughing stock of the league...

No true fan is hoping we suck just to get Luck... But some people may be of the opinion that none of the QBs in this draft will prevent us from sucking any more than Matt Moore or Jimmy Clausen will... due to other needs all over the roster...

There are some out there but I wouldnt call them true fans either. I want to have as many wins as possible every year.

On the contrary in fact. What I am worried about is we take the "top QB" in this year's draft class and it will hurt us for several years! If we draft a QB at number 1 this year, that is at least a multi-year commitment to him as a starter. And if the QB we draft is mediocre (need I remind you, a spread offense Mizzou QB is in contention for #1?), we will be stuck playing him for at least 2 years simply because we drafted him at number 1 overall and the FO refuses to admit we made a mistake.

At that point we will have sucked out loud for several years AND have missed our on the opportunity to draft Andrew Luck in the middle of the first round next year, because we had drafted out "franchise QB" the year before.

That's what I'm worried about!

How can people say this is a sad, sad draft class when they haven't played yet? You can not judge a draft class until years down the road.

Because they're put off and cant accept the best QB in that class and view he cant be considered "absolute" like most QBs who are drafted #1 overall.

If we pass on the qb's this year. People will still be saying "lets wait and draft one next year, it's a weak class!" this time come 2012.

Some just can't fathom taking risks. A bunch of John Fox clones. We'd keep journeymen qb's stockpiled until the team finally got moved to L.A.
