Let's say Luck really doesn't want to play for the Panthers and the Panthers get the #1 pick again next year, can Luck decide to stay in school one more year? I have not been following the Luck nut huggin wagon so I am not sure of his status.

No, if that's the case we do the old Chargers/Eli Manning switcharoo

Yep. Both him and Barkley can go back. Just accept Newton/Gabbert guys!

I agree it's one thing to hate Cam Newton and it's another thing all together to hope the Panthers have the worst record in the league next year. I know we all were pulling for the number one pick late last season but thats because of everything we endured. Right now, even if we dont select Cam, i dont want to ever have he number one pick again....unless we trade up. And as far as his stock dropping...remember a guy by the name of Peyton Manning? Luck will be the top guy next year too.

Ugh. And what a sad, sad class it is. The options at number 1 this year would be lucky (no pun intended) to even be in the top 20 next year.

I know we should draft a QB at number 1 this year, but I don't think any of this year's "first rounders" are franchise changers, or even regular Pro Bowlers. Luck, on the other hand, I think is a franchise guy.

To be clear, for those who didn't read my first post, I don't want us to take a nose dive this year. I don't think Luck will be #1 next year.

I have seen realists such as myself suggest that if we do take a QB this year and he doesn't pan out asking what the backup plan is... That'd be 3 first pick QBs in as many years, and we'd continue to be the laughing stock of the league...

No true fan is hoping we suck just to get Luck... But some people may be of the opinion that none of the QBs in this draft will prevent us from sucking any more than Matt Moore or Jimmy Clausen will... due to other needs all over the roster...

And you are entitled to your opinion. I would rather have Newton with a year under his belt then go through a year of Clausen then Luck as a rookie.
