Gruden vs King

Mr. Scot

Recommended Posts

If this is the case then ncmonzta's point was made, "What does it have to do with the Panthers"?? Shouldn't it be in the NFL football central message board instead??

In the offseason, you can post nearly anything on this board. Generally I only post things that have to do with specific players on other teams on the NFL board.

If it deals with NFL media people, the draft (even if we might not take the player it's about) I often stick it here.

In this case, Gruden has loose ties to the Panthers, is mentioned all the time here, so I see no problem with it being posted here.

If you want to believe that because Mr. Scot posted it, it was an attempt to undermine Gruden, you can. I just... well, don't. Heh.

Sort of like when Fox News says "Some critics say..." It is a method MSNBC or Fox uses all the time to undermine credibility or provide a counterpoint to a point that is counter to their own mission without saying so yourself. That way they can say "I didn't say that I simply posed the question.." Yet at the same time it is so transparent it is laughable.

Only if you're paranoid

Try this out...

- Some critics say that Marcell Dareus could be a bust without a solid, heavily structured environment.

- Some critics say that Patrick Peterson has weaknesses in zone coverage.

- Some critics say that Julio Jones could be a better NFL receiver than A J Green.

- Some critics say that this year's class of veteran quarterbacks in free agency is a weak one.

- Some critics say that Matt Moore will never be a worthy starter in the NFL.

- Some critics say that Carson Palmer is done and will never be a great quarterback again.

- Some critics say that Marty Hurney is a terrible GM.

- Some critics say that Ron Rivera doesn't have what it takes to succeed as a head coach.

Now, while all of those things run counter to my own ideas, I can acknowledge not only that all of those things are being said, but also that they each have a certain level of validity to them (though some more so than others).

The more simple-minded approach is to try and destroy anything and everything that runs counter to your thinking. Reality is that sometimes there are legitimate issues even in something you believe, but you make your decisions based on what you overall believe to be true.

This is why I can say, for example. that Gil Brandt is authoritative even when I disagree with him. Whereas some of the dullards on here change their opinion on whether someone is credible or not based on whether they like what they say or not.

(and why I'm laughing at some of the sheer outright paranoia posted in this thread)

Seriously. Like knights riding in to protect their damsel in distress

"OMG! SOMEONE SAID SOMETHING THAT MIGHT REMOTELY KINDA SORTA BE PERCEIVED AS A NEGATIVE ABOUT CAM IF YOU SPIN IT AROUND IN YOUR HEAD A BUNCHA DIFFERENT WAYS AND MAKE SILLY CONNECTIONS THAT AREN'T REALLY THERE! TO ARMS! TO ARMS!!!"

I didn't even agree the ncmontza on this to be honest. Until you actually started talking about it. Now I think he might have been right.

BC I am better than you in all things in life. :)

Stealing someone's post huh? Not cool

Seriously though the bet you made, I thought you couldn't post text. Your postings were much more coherent and didn't make you look like an ass when you were sticking to that.

Maybe go back, just a thought

Better than you in all things in life has been posted I think since the invention of message boards.

The bet is who we draft. The GIFs and pics was an agreement

it's funny because yesterday I almost said you were one of the reasonable people who wanted Cam Newton.

...glad I didn't. ;)

seriously though. if Mr. Scot hadn't posted this, someone else would have.

Even though you aren't, you should just say "yeah, I'm purposely disrespecting Cam Newton....get the fruck over it and quit whining"

I posted that I didn't necessarily agree with ncmontza. And I try to be reasonable but Haters make it nearly impossible. :cuss:

Cool. Link me up to the threads you started on all those.

Here's a thread with links to both positive and negative info about four prospects, including guys I like.

PFW Previews Panther Prospects

And a post from within that carries a familiar tone...

There are four different prospects linked in the OP. There'll be more if they're published online. And the things that are being discussed in this thread about Newton were already known and are being discussed heavily in about 20 other threads ongoing right now?

Could we not use this thread to discuss some of the other prospects rather than just making it another Newton thread and rehashing the same crap that's in all the others?
