Gruden vs King

Mr. Scot

Recommended Posts

How's this for logic:

You're against drafting a QB #1 overall (aka, a Cam Hater).

Gruden said we should take Cam.

You start a thread posting where someone says Gruden has no credibility, and the show's premise is invalid.

You suggestively ask if/declare that he has no credibility.

Your subtlety is about as transparent as a 3 ton rock.

Now... if Millions or Teeray, or hell even KT had started this thread, I'd say the discussion might have merit. But coming from you... it's just more anti-Cam campaigning.

So in your world, being against drafting a quarterback number one means I only hate Newton. Did I get that right? :sosp:

Again, the world - and apparently all discussion - revolves around Newton for you guys. Not for me.

Newton has no relevance whatsoever to this topic. Nor does this topic say anything about him.

This is especially true given you guys don't even know what my opinion is yet, but I'm sure whatever opinion I post will be spun to be anti-Newton regardless of which side I choose :frown2:

So you guys tell me. Which side of this argument is the Pro-Newton side?

If this has no connection to Cam, then why post it? Why do we care if Gruden is credible or not? Oh yeah, because he hosts a QBC that features the player on the top of our draft board. The player that Gruden thinks we should take.

Maybe because it is football related and gives us something to talk about?

haha thanks for ignoring the rest of my post....

I posted the most telling part.

As to the rest...

What does it do to your argument if I said this story doesn't affect Gruden's credibility?

I haven't said yet, have I? :sosp:

I don't know if Shaun King's comment has any weight behind it. He never developed a young quarterback, but he never got to try and break in a first round pick. Plus, most of those guys like Tuiasosopo, King, and Gradowski had unremarkable careers once they left. I would say he's an above average guy with quarterbacks, who is probably impatient with young quarterbacks.

Mr. Scot, you're such a dumb hater.

Don't you understand? The media is full of haters. PFT only posted this story to discredit Gruden. It was because they know that the man, that is, JR, does not want a winning quarterback. They want us to be mediocre forever - just like JR.

You're just part of it. You're just too stupid to see! THIS IS ALL PART OF THE PANTHERS PLAN FOR LOSING!

FIGHT THE POWER! SUPPORT ANY WHO SAY GOOD THINGS ABOUT NEWTON (...until they say not good things about him or say good things about other prospects then switch opinions ASAP)

Pretty much

I'm gonna start throwing a celebration when someone actually posts something relevant to the discussion

Exactly - in one of his sit downs he says he doesn't much like young QBs, in a jesting way, but it's clear he likes the older guys.

Good job you understand the thread. I personally don't think it affects his credibility because Gruden isn't developing the quarterback. He has them break down plays (which he seems good at) and go through passing drills like they will on an NFL team.

You've hit on a major point here.

The program isn't really about developing quarterbacks. It's about scouting them. He does a little bit of coaching here and there, but to call that "developing" is a stretch.

Gruden wasn't the GM during his tenure in Tampa. Rich Mckay was at first, then later it was Bruce Allen.
