Gruden vs King

Mr. Scot

Recommended Posts

Back on track...

Gruden is a great TV commentator. But his record as a HC is almost as good as John Fox's. Gruden took a Superbowl winning team into the gutter in record time. He never developed a young QB.

I hope he sticks to MNF, I do enjoy listening to him. But I would never want him as a HC for the Panthers.

Thanks for trying :(

Mike Mayock has said he doesn't think Newton should go number one. Mike Lombardi and Brian Baldinger (also on NFL Network) have said similar things.

Rick Gosselin, when asked who the Panthers should take at number one a while back on Hurney's program, suggested Peterson, Dareus, and Green, but not Newton.

The analysts in ESPN's "On the Clock" (Kiper, Dilfer, Mortensen) all said Carolina would be "wise to steer clear of Newton and Gabbert" and take a defensive pick instead.

Russ Lande (Sporting News) and Merrill Hoge (ESPN) have said they don't think either Newton or Gabbert is worth even a first round pick, much less the number one, but they agree that's likely what will happen. Mark Schlereth also said he wouldn't take Newton at number one.

And of course, there's Pro Football Weekly. Dislike what they have to say all you want, but they have a load of credibility in the football community.

Keep all the personal scores you want, dude. Doesn't mean you're winning.

But there is plenty of room on the opposite side of that fence as well. many who actually work for the league, perhaps even Marty Hurney.

So, we both have valid opinions. No?

First of all, why would I give out that kind of info??

Secondly my accounts are spread across several websites including Absolute Poker, Full Tilt Poker, Pokerstars, etc so i don't have all my money in one place. Secondly I withdraw my money on a pretty regular basis so there is never a sum of money in a website that can lock me out at any minute. Plus I have bills and a mortgage. I also play live games all around NC.

My sports books, I have a guy that does his booking over the phone, and Bodog, sports interaction, BETUS, bookmaker, etc. Because you can pick up a half a point here and half a point there by spreading your bankroll around through venues. Spreads and payouts differ from site to site some you can get some advantages by spreading it around. So again I don't have all that in one website.

other than that there is no way I can convince you that I gamble for a living except hope you believe me.

ThePokerDB can link one name to all accounts and tell us how much you've won in total, not just how much you have in there. PocketFives used to but I'm not sure if it does anymore.

There are similar sites for sports betting.

It's cool man I was just asking. It's not like if you tell us your name we can hack your account. The Govt already did that.

Not a clue...

Nobody wants to go with our current rotation of QBs. We just disagree that any of the guys available in the draft are 'franchise QBs". And plenty of football reasons have been given in loads of threads. Your default response, rather than actually debating them, is just to scream "hater" or "racist". That makes one of us look bad, but it ain't me (Hint: It's you).

Please find one instance of me calling you a racist.

Now who's being the paranoid one?

Or maybe you're just projecting something?

My default response to the "football reasons" is... GIVE SOME PROOF BESIDES YOUR SLANTED OPINION. No one has done that yet.

What we want is to get a veteran that could be a stopgap via free agency or maybe better via trade. Among the popular options: David Garrard. You might want to consider that fact the next time you go screaming racism.

Again, where did I talk about race in this thread... where did ANYONE talk about race here? wtf are you talking about?

Bottom Line: Yes, we need a franchise QB, but a lot of us think the guys in the draft don't fit that bill. And taking that position does not equal "hate" no matter how much you try and spin it.

You can "hate" someone without their race being a factor. Maybe you hate Newton for the off-field allegations leveled at him. Or maybe you hate him because you are a Crimson Tide fan. Or maybe you hate him because you don't like Auburn. Or maybe you hate him because you like Matt Moore better?

IDK WHY you are against him. But the "football reasons" aren't flying anymore. Everything that's ever been brought up against him for "football reasons" is either extremely minor, or he's gone great lengths, already, as an undrafted agent, to correct or has proven are not a factor.

Your constant throwing back to saying "race" as a motivating critisism of your stand against him really speaks a lot to me. Your ridiculous "race quiz" shows some sort of serious problem with your thinking on this subject. I really think you need to check yourself in this department.

Are you saying he's not free?

I thought we were beyond this.
