Gruden vs King

Mr. Scot

Recommended Posts

Here's one for you guys to try to wrap your heads around:

Don Banks (SI) believes that the Panthers will take Cam Newton with the #1 pick.

So now, going off only that piece of information and nothing else, you guys tell me what my opinion is of Don Banks credibility as a football analyst

(and don't bother saying "we can't" because that's what you've been doing this entire thread)

I dunno. Start that thread and we will talk about it.

A man who seems to be highly respected around the league and by fans, who just hosted a QBC the top QB prospects in this year's draft, comes out says Cam should be our pick. Later, a former player of his bashes his credibility and claims his camp is somewhat of a joke. This has a connection with Newton, Gabbert, Mallet, and everyone else on that attended the camp.

Only in your mind, Dude. Not mine :nonod:

Care to take the challenge and tell me what I think of Don Banks?

I know this is crazy talk to some, but shouldn't the QB himself take some responsibility for his own development? It's not like King went on and developed in to a franchise QB under another HC or anything.

Don't derail the discussion to something that's actually related to the topic

As an answer, how many guys that have busted in one place have gone on to be franchise QBs elsewhere?

(they do exist, but how many can we think of?)

Gruden got as much as any other coach could have gotten out of Brad Johnson, Rich Gannon, and Shaun King. For crying out loud, Johnson and Gannon were both career back ups until they played for Gruden, and he took both of them to the play offs and won a Superbowl with Johnson.

You guys are really sad. Bring up Cam and then blaim Scot. I can guarantee the point of the thread was for people to post:

"Yes this hurts Gruden's credibility because he hasn't developed any QB so he doesn't know anything"

Or

"No this doesn't hurt Gruden's credibility because he is a great football guys who knows all about the xs and os of football and can help the QB's learn in that department."

If everyone simply answered the question which was asked this thread would not have mentioned Newton at all.

lol dude, I don't care what you think of Don Banks.

Why do you care so much what I think of Jon Gruden?

Banks is in the exact same situation as Gruden (predicting the Panthers will take Newton #1) so if my goal is to assassinate the credibility of such predictors, what I think of Don banks matters too.

So tell me, what do I think of him? Surely you know, right, since you know what I think of Gruden's program?

Valid, though the counterargument would be that Gannon and Johnson already had some training before Gruden got them, so it doesn't necessarily impact as much on the question of whether he can develop rookies.

Pretty much

These guys are coming off as paranoid and obsessive here. It's kinda sad.

this thread is retarded.

Wouldn't have been had it gone as originally planned

Once the Knights That Go Neep rode in to defend the honor of their beloved, it went downhill.

Admittedly, I'm getting kind of a wicked amusement out of it though :D
