Don Banks (SI) believes that the Panthers will take Cam Newton with the #1 pick.

So now, going off only that piece of information and nothing else, you guys tell me what my opinion is of Don Banks credibility as a football analyst :cool:

I couldn't care less what your opinion is. I simply do not care. Let me state that again so you don't respond with the same argument again; I do not care.

My argument was simple. This IS related to Cam Newton and it is NOT ridiculous to bring him into this conversation.

A man who seems to be highly respected around the league and by fans, who just hosted a QBC the top QB prospects in this year's draft, comes out says Cam should be our pick. Later, a former player of his bashes his credibility and claims his camp is somewhat of a joke. This has a connection with Newton, Gabbert, Mallet, and everyone else on that attended the camp. The reason I only bring up Cam is because of Gruden's comments about him and the Panthers. According to King, a guy who knows poo about evaluating QBs says we should take Cam. That could be a bit of a concern to some people.

And for the record, I am not a Cam hugger. As much as you would absolutely love to think that, it's not true. If we draft him, which I am fully convinced we are going to, I'd be happy with the selection. But I could also say the same thing about 2-3 other guys (Peterson, Green, Dareus).

I know this is crazy talk to some, but shouldn't the QB himself take some responsibility for his own development? It's not like King went on and developed in to a franchise QB under another HC or anything.
