I could fully support Newton or Gabbert. While it's true I strongly prefer Newton, getting one of the two would make me feel much better about the direction we are headed.

As an alternative, there would be nothing wrong with trading down, provided we get a really nice package of picks this year.

Taking Dareus, PP, or Green without a trade down would leave me disappointed, but they would still have my full support FWIW.

if carolina trades down, you can scratch dareus off the list.

2008: I knew we were going to take either Stewart or Otah. My friends thought I was fugging Nostradamus after that.

Passing on Newton doesn't mean they are sticking with Jimmy/Moore/Pike. There are other ways to get another QB

Some of you are setting yourselves up for a major disappointment... Wanting Newton and only Newton is fine and dandy, but you realize this league takes more than one player to be successful, right?

The only thing possibly more funny to watch than the reaction to us NOT drafting Cam Newton is us actually drafting him and then immediately trading him away to someone else (contingent on a new CBA somewhere in the next 9 days, of course)...

I don't care who we draft... It will be fun to watch the draft regardless... I don't care who our rookies are next season... I just want to win...

As much as I want Cam, I am fully prepared in the event we go in another direction. Still don't think we will, but if we do I'll be on board with it.

I think some folks are having difficulty accepting the change in approach the organization has taken since Fox was shown the door. This isn't the same old conservative approach we're used to here; they're shaking things up.

This...They're use to us passing on first round QB's, going defense and an sticking with average ones behind center. This pick will show a lot of progression to us heading in the RIGHT direction imo. For starters keeping up w/ the rest of our division by trying to target a talented QB.

It's hard to say they are shaking things up just on a coaching change. Once the CBA is in place and free agency starts...we will see how much they are going through a change. If we don't go after top free agents, there hasn't been much of a change.

As to the others, can't speak for everybody but I've got plenty of experience getting on board with a draft pick I didn't like (last year included).

How can you speak for people who you are not but then turn around and not speak for the people you are.
