Only time will tell if Newton's best will be good enough on the NFL level. It certainly was in college.

His scintillating season at Auburn included an SEC-record 30 passing touchdowns and a school-record 20 rushing touchdowns at the school that produced running backs Bo Jackson and James Brooks. He threw just seven interceptions and didn't lose a single fumble.

It's all driven by the kind of competitive streak that has served many an NFL superstar well, and it shows up in how he's handled the multitude of personal successes and failures that have played out in the national spotlight.

"I'm blessed. I can't even say that enough. To know 365 days ago I was attending class at Auburn and even the Auburn fans didn't even know what they were getting at this time last year. It's a wonder what God can do in a person's life - this fast."

I honestly think that the pick is going to be either Newton or Gabbert. I don't think that that either of those are the right pick, (I believe we should take Marcell Dareus, especially since he's shown he's more reliable than Nick Fairley) but I believe that we are going to take one of those two QBs.

Sort of. He was the featured pic for the general draft preview for the quarterback position. If they had a profile of him specifically, I missed it.

There was a profile of Dareus (Dareus dares to be great) and one of Green (Green could catch on in a big way). They also looked at Robert Quinn, who we're not said to be considering.

Upon reading the article, it had a superstar feel to it. Like you're supposed to be in awe over Newton, as opposed to Gabbert, which to me took on a "perfect storm" of timing kind of tone

Newton shows 10 times more confidence and charisma than Clausen, that is for sure.

I predict us drafting Newton, and starting him after the first half of the season. We may win 1-4 games with Clausen or Moore, and another 1-3 games with Newton.

Much ado about nothing, IMO. People hear are reading things into nothing at all. Reminds of all the talking heads who take the flimiest of information and begin speculation based on nothing. Just shows how little noteworthy news there is right now.
